It got great reviews. But it didn't do well at the box office.
After watching it, all I can say is, "Well, that was wild."
Anybody else seen it?

After King Kong, I refuse to watch Brody in anything else.

It got good reviews from critics, but the general public doesn't seem to like it much.
The first half is effective, but the second half is just silly imo. Overall it's another mediocre sci-fi horror movie that wastes an interesting premise.
5.5/10

I like the director's other films Cube and Cypher, but this one was a huge disappointment. The plot doesn't make a lot of sense, the characters are annoying. Brody's acting was okay, but it felt like the otherwise excellent Sarah Polley was sleepwalking through her part. It also has one of the most disgusting sex scenes I can recall.
It was produced by Guillermo De Toro and probably intended to be Vincenzo Natali's mainstream breakout, but it ended up as a flop.

I saw this when it first came out.
I think I found it creepy - didn’t care for it much.

I think you meant "Splice". Apparently, "Spliced" is a Canadian low budget horror film.

I thought it was funny. Like most horror films, it was stupid. But I thought it's premise was interesting. Obviously the characters were making stupid choices. But that seems to be a prerequisite for horror movies. At the end of the movie, after all that's happened, Elsa decides to keep the pregnancy, for many reasons. One being her company wants to financially profit from the endeavor. Her boss says, "Of course you can abort at anytime. We're not going to force you to go all the way through. And Elsa replies, "No problem. I'll do it. What could go wrong?" --- Ha ha ha !!! . . . Let me count the ways . . . Ha ha ha !!!
