I'm not gonna defend it as a good movie, but my god it might have the highest highs of any Spider-Man movie.

It's terribly uneven but I still enjoy it to this day. Even at its barmiest, it's miles ahead of either the Andrew Garfield movies.

Reminds me of the original Green Goblin design they had for the first movie.

Love it. I'll watch it over any of the reboots any day!

It has a special kind of summer movie magic to it that most movies just don't have.

That moment when Peter opens the suitcase to pull out his costume with that score is just perfect. Highly undervalued movie for some aspects.

Gee, we're all gushing about Raimi's direction for Spider-Man 3 of all things. Imagine what he'll do for Doctor Strange 2! Cannot wait!

I just caught a few minutes on TV, and—boy, it’s good. I haven’t seen it in years, and I had to keep reminding myself it’s considered the weakest of the Raimi trilogy. The pacing in particular is superb, and the attention to detail and color; even when it seemed like the script would hit a dry spell (first attack from Sandman, a character who threatens to break the disbelief line), Raimi’s direction kept things moving and interesting. I always thought SM3 was underrated; now I think I’m a positive fan of it.

It’s frustrating because a lot of it is really good or even great, then it has a few scenes that are so bad they degrade the rest of the movie.
I’m still mostly a fan. The score is particularly good.

I feel the same way about Terminator 3. I eventually saw a fan edit that took out a lot of the silliness and made a far better film out of it. I wonder if there's anything like that for Spider-Man 3.

The person I was watching with said, “This has to be one of the best Spider-Man movies,” which amused me—but, yeah, I’d rate it on the same level as Homecoming and higher than anything else that came afterwards. It just has a lot of stuff that appeals to me.
