My unpopular Bond Opinions...
-Pierce Brosnon is the Best James Bond (I didn't say his movies were the best, I'm saying him as the lead role is the best mix of Connery and Moore).
-Casino Royale (2006) is the best James Bond movie ever made.
-George Lazenby is better than Timothy Dalton and Roger Moore. Too bad he only got one film.
-Never Say Never Again is better than 2/3 of the canon 007 films and should be an official Bond movie.

The Moore era comprises the majority of the silliest Bond films.

George Lizenby was a good James Bond. I think hes better than Craig. I dont think he was great but he did have charm to him.

Connery isn't the best Bond, Moore is. I might even rank Sean third, behind Brosnan. I would rank those three as the three best Bonds. I go 1. Brosnan 2. Connery 3. Moore 4. Dalton 5. Lazenby 6. Craig

A View To a Kill is one of the better Moore movies. Both of Dalton's are in the top ten I fully agree. I go. #1 - Licence to Kill #7 - A View to a Kill #10 - The Living Daylights

I don't like Skyfall (2012) at all, but I do like Spectre (2015). I really like both but I think Spectre is better than Skyfall.

I think the first half of Die Another Day is my favorite Brosnan Bond (though, heh, that may just tell you my low opinion of the Brosnan Bonds). Berry’s acting’s lousy, but other than that we have the North Korea sequence, some interesting sleuthing at the clinic, the fencing scene with Stephens as anti-Bond, the beautiful Rosamund Pike, and callbacks not just to previous Bond movies but (even better) to Fleming’s original books. Even the ice palace is one of the interesting Bond settings, the whole thing feels like a Bond movie in the grand tradition, and Brosnan gives his best performance in the role.
And then of course it all goes to blazes with the invisible car, the stupid twist, and the godawful CGI—but that first half is, I truly think, good.
Similarly, Moonraker’s first half is my favorite Moore Bond, and then the space stuff ruins it (though it’s better than DAD, all things considered). Ah well.
I love Bond, but it is funny how few Bonds I’d consider good movies on their own, rather than good James Bond entries.

Oh, a few more opinions:
I disliked Skyfall (long, clunky, plot-hole-ridden, and I don’t care about Bond’s personal life) and was bored by Spectre, while I enjoyed Quantum of Solace. I have to agree with the consensus on Casino Royale, though.
On Her Majesty’s Secret Service has some great stuff in it, but it also has huge pacing and script problems and suffers from Lazenby’s complete lack of charisma. (On the other hand, his emoting at the end is good.) Oddly, the book is much the same but in different ways.
As noted, for the most part I don’t like Brosnan Bonds. Nothing against Brosnan, I think he’d be fine for the part, but godalmighty the scripts were bad. Even the much-vaunted GoldenEye felt like a whole lot of nothing to me. Of them, I guess my favorite is The World is Not Enough (but the twist should have been done better!), but really it’s Die Another Day’s first half.
Not too controversial these days, but poor Timothy Dalton deserved more and better Bond movies.
After a great first third, Thunderball’s boring. I actually had more fun with Diamonds Are Forever’s idiotic campiness.

No Christmas Jones or at least no romantic subplot with her. It would've turn the story way more tragic and personal. One of my favorite Bond moments is when he stone cold kills her. "Admit James, you're going to miss me" BAM! "I never miss."

I don’t actually mind the Richards character, but yes, the twist would have been far more effective, both dramatically and emotionally, if Marceau were the only Bond girl.

My unpopular James Bond movie opinion is that James Bond movies are boring. Can't get into them. As a casual fan, I'll fully admit I need to be in a proper mood to dive back in. They really aren't as accessible I think as their lore makes them out, & I really like a good dozen of them or so. It did take me a few viewings of each to wrap my brain around them. Maybe that's another unpopular opinion unto itself. So be it.

Maybe that's another unpopular opinion unto itself. So be it. This is a fair point. About half a dozen Bonds I’d say are actually good movies (the first three Connerys, The Spy who Loved Me, Casino Royale, For Your Eyes Only, and maybe Licence to Kill); many others I’d say are good Bond entries. Of course, that’s not the same as “my favorites”: I’d probably pick Moonraker to watch over Spy, and these days I like the goofy Moore years in general more than I used to. Not to keep linking to the same person, but I really enjoy reading ex-blogger Jaime Weinman’s comments—and agree with his claim that “every post-'60s Bond film (up to the Casino Royale reboot, anyway) [w]as a ‘yes, but…' movie.” His exact movie opinions and mine aren’t the same, but I agree with the gist of what he’s saying here: As he says, that the Bond series survived despite repeating the same story elements over and over again (or “rendering storytelling and character irrelevant for years”) is remarkable. Now, I don’t necessarily dislike that, but it’s remarkable nonetheless.

-I think A View to a Kill is better than Live and Let Die, The Man With The Golden Gun, and Octopussy. -Die Another Day has its flaws, but it's entertaining if you just take it for what it is.-You Only Live Twice is Sean Connery's worst Bond film in my opinion. -Diamonds Are Forever is fun as long as you don't take it seriously.Agreed. Goldeneye is the best Bond ever.

- Timothy Dalton is the best Bond. He looks, acts and feels the part.
- There hasn't been a good James Bond movie since at least the late 90s.
- Dr. No (1962) is quite dull in comparison to the later Sean Connery entries.
- Octopussy (1983) is far worse than A View To A Kill (1985), a film that I would describe reasonably favourably.
