When I say "fully functional" I mean able to walk, talk, converse, listen, understand, and complete at least the basic tasks of cleaning and driving.
When I see the latest advances in AI and robotics, it's amazing how far they've come.
What do you think?

I think that when it comes to cleaning and driving and most of the other tasks they'll be able to learn from each other and figure out most situations within 20 years. However, I think that true 'understanding' will take longer so I voted 20 to 30 years.

To be inclusive, you need to put gynoids in your poll.

I think the idea of sexbots would be generally good for society.
Lots of people (mostly men) aren't very social. They're loners. The only interest they have in women is sex. These people could use sexbots for physical release. And they wouldn't have to bother anybody.
And I could see married couples being okay with their spouses having personal sexbots. It's not really cheating.

Funny, I was just reading this article which was dealing with the issue of consent when it comes to sex with robots and whether it will be possible for a human to rape a robot. Would that be considered a crime like violating a human being?

I voted 10-15 years, but it's more like wishful thinking on my part. Personally I feel that technology is advancing incredibly slowly. So far the 21st century has been a complete disappointment in this regard.

So far the 21st century has been a complete disappointment in this regard. There are some notable achievements in narrow AI and robotics. There are small self steering drones that can easily locate and kill a human being and they've been around since 2017 but for ethical reasons they haven't been deployed. Also, there's been artificial music programs that can mimic some kinds of song fairly well and there's deepfakes for video and to some degree audio that can make it look like somebody did something that they didn't do. There may be more things I've missed, but in general though I agree with you. There's self driving cars but they're just starting to be used widely and flying cars and useful jetpacks are nowhere to be seen.

So far the 21st century has been a complete disappointment in this regard. I don't know the chronological year by year advancements. But the microchips they use are getting smaller and smaller, and stronger and stronger. The robots now have facial expressions. Supposedly they have sexbots for sale that look and feel good. I imagine they get the job done. But they're way out of my price range.

I went with 100-200 years. Not sure if they'll ever be fully functional in every sense of the word to be honest. I could, of course, be very wrong about that.

Once we get the Voight-Kampff test sorted out I’ll let you know.

LMFAO!!!!!!!! I thought you meant the android app on phones!!!! LMFAO!!!!!!!!
Robots? Not within our lifetimes. We have to achieve two things independently: 1) True Artificial Intelligence, and 2) a body that works like a humans even if it doesn't exactly look like humans.
I think we will achieve #2 first because that's really just an engineering problem. Sooner or later we'll crack that.
But TRUE artificial intelligence is a whole other animal. Computational ability is one thing, we're almost there with that. But the complexities of creating real abstract thought, reflection and then application are far away from our level of understanding. We still don't understand the human brain much less how to create one.
Also, we really need to consider that once an artificial being can think and act for itself that we may not always like how it applies what it learns. I don't think they'll become an army of murderous robots that wipe out the human race, but they will be a race of beings that will compete with humans on many levels. It doesn't have to be the Terminator or the Matrix for them to greatly impact human life or be outright dangerous.
