Avocado: I am not ripe
Avocado: I am not ripe
Avocado: I am not ripe
Avocado: OK I am ripe now.
Avocado: You were in the bathroom, sorry
So I rotted.

Catman worked at a restaurant that used canned avocado. I guess it was for that reason, though I have honestly never heard of canned avocadoes before and they don't seem to be available here

Catman worked at a restaurant that used canned avocado. Catman! Listen to me. This is getting scary. Too much of the "nip weed," isn't good for you. Please reach out for help.

I think that there is a moment, when you first come back from the toilet and it is possible to save the situation and use it for guac, however EVEN guac has to taste good and not be prematurely 'brown'! You know how you can used overripe bananas in cake and smoothies because they just get mooshy and sweeter? Well avos just turn brown and taste awful and sulk.

I bought this avocado July 30, 19 days ago. Just cut into it. Other than a bit of separation around the pit, it's perfect. I'll have 1/4 a day, then I have another one to use from the same date.

I hate 'em ! My grandparents raised me, and in the backyard was a huge avocado tree, grandma loved them. She would put a good half inch of mayo on a slice of bread and thickly slice the avocado. I hated the avo's and wouldn't go for as much mayo as she liked either. So double yuck!

Use all your fingers to check. Keep your eye on any you think may be close. Start testing regularly. If you're not sure, it may be hours away. They don;t ripen much overnight, so don't worry about missing your window then. If one's at all ripe, put it into a bin in the fridge. Cheese bin, some I just have on the door. I don't think they last as long in a high-humidity bin. Use in order of softness by visual or gentle testing. I'm still using this one. Two more from that batch.

I should eat more of them, but my usual compromise is just to buy a 4-pack or 6-pack of the Wholly Guacamole 2-ounce "singles".

Avocados never enter my house. Don't like the mouth feel. Kiwis neither. Or melons. But the ripeness "scale" seems about right!

Well, I bought one today - on sale for a buck. Looks good, feels good, guess I should fridge it.
Perhaps I shall add it to a turkey/bacon sandwich. Or something.

I have 1/4 left from one I bought 24 days ago and it's fine, but the last one looks overripe. Imploding a bit. They are good with bacon.
