Going on a sort-of detox diet until Wednesday. Nothing but cottage cheese and fresh lemon juice and not much of that. Then on Wednesday I am having some Polish-American friends over who love my stuffed cabbage. Probably potato pancakes on the side.

I picked up a few pounds of beautiful 9-12 fresh shrimp yesterday at my local fish market. I'm gonna batter and pan-fry them and make some authentic New Orleans po'boys. Fully dressed of course!

I'm cooking my usual/very often Saturday hamburger. Tomorrow, I'm having lunch (outdoors), at a great place that does wonderful quiche. Their slices are gigantic, so I'll take a container for left overs, and nibble on that, if I'm hungry in the evening.

I just buy Nancy's quiches, I used to like Trader Joe's quiches but there is no Trader Joe's around here. I remember in the early 80's, quiches were an "in" food and several small restaurants specializing in quiche opened up, sadly after about a year, they went out of business. In Albuquerque there was a small French restaurant in Old Town that had delicious quiches.

Had sweet corn from the Farmers market and pork burgers tonight. We finished off the sweet corn tonight. We cooked it in the microwave for the first time. Wrapping the ears in paper towels for about 8 minutes two at a time was quite tasty though time consuming to cook. We also had BLTs.

Made a traditional hamburger today with a sesame seed bun, nice and simple on the grill, with spring onions, gherkins and coleslaw (I ate it cold).

It's a puzzlement. I'll probably go "burger or dog," on Saturday. Very "same," but OK. And, there's still cabbage left over from July 4th, so I can finish it with more Slaw.
I still have to think about Sunday.

Saturday is cheeseburgers using Schwan's Black Angus grilled burgers that I reheat in the oven and Pepperidge Farm hamburger buns, I like a good tasting bun and real American cheese not cheese food. Sunday is barbeque chicken wings, again from Schwan's with Sweet Baby Ray's Honey Barbeque Sauce. I make a lot of things from Schwan's, it makes life easier when there are just 2 people eating.
