who was disappointed when he found out that America had won World War II?
At the end of Captain America: The First Avenger, Steve Rogers wakes up in 2011, runs out of the building into Times Square, and gets a sudden culture shock. Nick Fury tells Rogers that he had been asleep for 70 years and asks if Rogers is OK. Someone who had been in a war against the Nazis and had been asleep for 70 years would've asked "Who won the war?" or "Did we win the war?"
But Rogers never even asks about the war. Instead Rogers is disappointed and says "I had a date." So Rogers didn't care about the war or about fighting the Nazis and was only concerned that the didn't get to go on a date with Peggy Carter.
Some dumb MCU fans have claimed that Rogers didn't ask who won the war because he could tell America had won the war because there were no swastikas in Times Square. Even if that were true, then Rogers should've been overjoyed to know that America won the war. But Rogers wasn't happy at all.
Despite finding out that America had won the war, Rogers' reaction wasn't joy but disappointment that he didn't get to go on a date with Peggy Carter. Is Captain America the only American soldier who was disappointed when he found out that America had won World War II?

I think his date with Penny was more important to him personally then the question of who won the war.
Steve is a human being first. As are we all. So the thing that mattered to him most on a personal level was his missed date.
I think its normal. For me my personal life and situation are more important then my job and the situation in the world. I think thats true for anyone. If not then they have their priorities wrong.
For you to make such a big deal out of this is a sign that you still have a lot to learn about life. Thats ok. I think you are very young. It will come in time.

AH-Fan doesn't like Human characters, he only likes perfect people archetypes. LOL!!! You have no defense for Captain America's disappointment when he found out that America had won the war against the Nazis so now you're trying to resort to the typical MCU fan tactic of using personal attacks, thinking that would validate your argument. But it only shows that you have no argument.
All the other American soldiers were human too but none of them expressed any disappointment when they found out that America won the war against the Nazis. Captain America is the only American soldier who wasn't happy and who expressed disappointment when he found out that America had won the war against the Nazis.

So you do only like perfect people archetypes got it. Those soldiers were given proper time to live out the conflict and absorb what was happening. None of them were in 70 years deep sleeps and awoke to what was basically an alien world. Put them in Cap's situation, they'd react the same as he did. Probably worse than he did. He handled it pretty well. In fact, he handled it better than Superman or Batman would have.

You're missing the obvious answer. Peggy was the last thing on Steve's mind when he went into the ice. Of course she'd foremost on his mind when he woke up. You're confusing what preoccupied with what disappointment actually means. Steve wasn't disappointed. He didn't say, "Well, it sucks we won." Or "Gosh darn it, I wanted the Nazis to rule the world." That would be disappointment. Plus, it is true that Times Square didn't have swastikas all over.

Those soldiers were given proper time to live out the conflict and absorb what was happening. None of them were in 70 years deep sleeps and awoke to what was basically an alien world. Irrelevant. From Steve Rogers' point of view, he was still fighting the war the day before and now he just found out that America won the war. But instead of being happy and elated over the good news, Rogers is extremely disappointed that he didn't get to go on a date with Peggy Carter. Rogers is the only American soldier who was disappointed when he found out America won the war. Put them in Cap's situation, they'd react the same as he did. Probably worse than he did. Nope. Imagine being an American soldier advancing on Germany near the end of World War II. Suddenly, your commanding officer announces to your unit that he just received the news that the Nazis had surrendered. What's the first reaction of EVERY American soldier? CHEERS, JOY, ELATION, CELEBRATION. What was Steve Rogers' first reaction when he found out that the war was over (and America won)? DISAPPOINTMENT. NO OTHER AMERICAN SOLDIER BESIDES STEVE ROGERS WOULD'VE BEEN ANYTHING LESS THAN ELATED UPON FINDING OUT THE GOOD NEWS THAT AMERICA WON THE WAR.He handled it pretty well. Rogers showed his true colors by not even being elated upon finding out the good news that America won the war and instead expressed extreme disappointment when he found out that America won the war. I'd say he'd handled it poorly and in the worst way possible.

Again, that's not what disappointment means. If Steve had any disappointment, it's that he missed his chance with Peggy.
Lack of elation is not equivalent to disappointment.
Also, the analogy is faulty. Those soldiers are in the thick of battle. Not waking up decades later to a clearly not-Nazi New York.
This post is predicated on the belief that the war is all Steve thought or cared about. Or that it's all soldiers thought or cared about. It's not.

That was foremost on his mind. The war was a mission. Peggy was his dream. And that's exactly what I said: Rogers was disappointed he missed his chance with Peggy. Not that America won. Those are two separate things.

Put anyone else in his place they'd react even worse than he did. He took it like a man.
Take a soldier and dump him 70 years in the future, he won't be happy no matter what.
He took it better than Superman or Batman would have if they'd been fighting in a war.

Along with the fact that Batman can't get over his parents death. Joker even said "You're just a little boy in a play suit crying out for mommy and daddy". Steve's taken way more shit and still takes it like a man. First Avenger he loses his entire old life. Winter Soldier he realizes that the new cause he started fighting for was basically Hydra in disguise, he has to fight his old friend and deal with the pain that he died for nothing. Civil War he ends up losing his other friends and became a wanted criminal

Civil War he ends up losing his other friends and became a wanted criminal LOL!!! Are you seriously trying to argue that Steve Rogers, who got injected with an experimental PED that gave him powers beyond normal men, had a tough life because he didn't have many friends? That's nothing compared to a baby losing not only his parents but his entire planet and having to grow up on a foreign planet or a pre-teen boy having to witness his parents getting murdered on the street. And for becoming a wanted criminal, that was Rogers' choice. Rogers was given a chance to bring in the Winter Soldier lawfully and let the Winter Soldier defend himself within the legal process. But Rogers chose to aid and abet a suspected terrorist and in the process attacked law enforcement officials who were just doing their job.

you are clearly too stupid to believe facts that are being presented right in front of your face. Last I checked Batman didn't lose his parents as a baby. Speaking of stupid, just look in the mirror. Whoever said Batman lost his parents as a baby. This is what I wrote in my previous post: " a baby losing not only his parents but his entire planet and having to grow up on a foreign planet or a pre-teen boy having to witness his parents getting murdered on the street." Now where in that comment does it say that Batman lost his parents as a baby? Are you too stupid to understand who is being referred to in each part of that comment? This just proves that I'm 100 correct that you MCU fans really are stupid and really do need everything spoon-fed to you. Steve wouldn't have to become a criminal if it wasn't for the accords. And the accords wouldn't have happened if Tony Stark hadn't created Ultron without any discussion with or authorization from government leaders and if the Avengers (led by Captain America) hadn't set off a bomb that killed several people. Tony was going to let Bucky go if it wasn't for Zemo showing them the video which pissed Tony off. Steve was noble enough to own up to the mistake of not telling Tony And that brings up the stupidity of Tony Stark and the huge plothole of Civil War. Tony and Steve fight because Steve knew that Bucky murdered Tony's parents (even though Steve was alrerady frozen in ice when the murders happened) and didn't tell Steve but Zemo not only knew but also somehow finds the only copy of a videotape of the murders from 25 years ago, which pisses Tony off. Yet Tony (who somehow knew some random high school kid was Spider-Kid) thought for 25 years that his parents died in a road accident and didn't know that his parents were murdered. Did Tony not read the coroner's report - the part that says "Maria Stark cause of death: asphyxiation due to strangulation"? How the hell does idiot Tony think that "cause of death: asphyxiation due to strangulation" means accidental death in a road accident? HUGE PLOTHOLE!!!

You need to be spoonfed that badly? Civil War explained all that stuff, quite easily actually.
