I don't mean the "beano" type of gas!
I remember back in March or maybe April, gas was so cheap, it was around $1.41 or so per gallon.
Today when I went out, it's almost $3.00 per gallon. I've noticed the price going up at a steady rate, each week it seems, bit by bit. But this is giving me those flashbacks to when we were paying over $4.00/gallon.

So it has nothing to do with COVID, Gass prices in Norway have been high for years. Of course in Norway we pay per liter and not gallon, but if we had paid per gallon it would be $6.55 I think one gallon is the same as 3 liter, per liter we pay $1.96, And i think you only pay $0.10 per liter in the US. So i have to admit i always find it a bit funny when Americans complain about gas prices.

I'm imagining it must be in order for citizens being able to pay those prices. Kind of like here in the States, what someone would have to pay for a tiny little apartment in California, they could afford a giant house elsewhere in the country. (But the cost of living is all relative). I can imagine it must sound silly to you that we Americans complain about gas prices if that's what you guys are paying per gallon. That's definitely quite a difference.

According to the International Monetary Fund the average GDP (PPP) per capita in Norway is $79,638 and in the US its $67,426

On my bucket list, I had hoped to one day spend time in Norway.

Gas prices in Europe are generally a lot higher than in the US. It's because of the taxes. In Germany about 2/3s of the price is made up of government taxes. Even so I've noticed too that prices have been going up again in recent weeks. Just two months ago they were telling us, that gas was so cheap, they were practically giving it away for free.
For the first time in their history Saudi Arabia had to introduce a sales tax because of the low oil price the country was losing a lot of money. At least those Saudi princes won't be starving to death now.

Damn only $3.00 per gallon you lucky bastard, in Norway its $6.55 per gallon. Is it true Norway is an exporter of oil? Your prices are so high because your government like the UK Also an exporter charges their residents a large tax? Is it to limit driving or to raise money? Thanks feo!

Just 'filled' up at the gas station in town @ 97.9 cents/L. Plus, because I am a Royal Bank member, and pay with Visa, I get 3 cents off per litre.
As for other 'gases', I huffed helium for the very first time about a year ago. Of course, the very first thing I had to say was:
Good Morning, Miss Bliss!
Goes back to the Saved By The Bell - the junior high years. Mr. Belding is holding a balloon closed with his mouth while trying to tie the end. Miss Bliss distracts him, and he ended up huffing the helium. He said "Good Morning, Miss Bliss!"

Prices here are not from $2.09 to $2.29 a gallon depending on the station. Still cheap, so not complaining. Since we're not driving a lot and gas is cheap, we're saving a bit of $$.

I think $2.22 is the highest I've seen it since the price started rising again. I can live with that, especially since I'm still basically housebound in my work situation.

Yes Norway is an exporter of oil, i don`t really know why the price is so high, i have not really looked into it.
