Of course the traffic on this board has fallen off to such a small number that polls are virtually meaningless, nevertheless I think it is an interesting question to consider.
An attitude I see on television is that religious people can't, won't, or just plain don't own microscopes. I'm certain that is ridiculous.
I still have both a microscope and a telescope each I often used as a young student.

Theist w/o microscope. I think Maya may have one. She has all kinds of medical equipment. Tell me something. If I did have a microscope, could I look through it and see this?

The size of those things is 125 nm across and the technology to see something that small is well over $50k. That image however is not likely from a microscope of any kind. Notice the light shading. The wavelengths of visible light are about 380 to 720 nm.

The actual testing for covid-19 depends on far less dependable technology than seeing a picture of it anywhere. [ edited] The less dependable (but better than other less expensive options) "polymerase chain reaction" test looks for short "characteristic" patterns of DNA. That is complicated by the fact that viruses have no DNA, just RNA. There are enzymes, according to my internet searches, that convert RNA to DNA to enable the PCR tests. Sorry, no pictures, so you know what that means.

It means we're expected to rely on bought-and-paid-for scientists and the pro-establishment mainstream media to tell us "the Truth." They tell us this virus is airborne, and we're supposed to put on masks and stand on the X.

Arlon, old buddy, this Coronavirus is a hoax. It's Globalist scare tactics. And it will work. Global Warming didn't work, so they trotted this one out. This one will work.

Part of it is how people have forgotten about all the other nasty little bugs out there and how religious people properly avoided those. The glove box in my car has always been well stocked with commercially recognized cleansing products for on the go. You're right though, Trump isn't likely to pull through this in time. People need to be far more certain. It's just as well. I would caution here though that his defeat is still not absolutely certain.

I liked the symmetry or sequence of the poll choices. Most people would have put option 3 (in your poll) as option and vice versa.

I don't think there's anything he could possibly do to mollify his detractors. Even if he does what they want done, they'll still say he didn't do enough of it or do it quickly enough.

Advice in case you are considering getting a telescope, think about getting one with a clock drive equatorial mount that compensates for the rotation of the Earth. Even low power telescopes looking at the Moon will not keep the Moon in the field of view for more than a whole minute. It is also racing across the field of view all that time. It is amazing how you can notice the Earth is turning so fast with a telescope.

Like driving on a long road at fifty miles an hour and seeing a cloud thirty degrees above the horizon, and in about three or four minutes you find yourself directly under that cloud. It's yet another sky phenomenon that I don't remember ever happening when I was a kid, but it's happening now.
