Here's Ronnie James Dio way back when he was doing doo wop:
Here's him when he did what he's more known for:

I didn't know Ronnie James Dio had an earlier singing career. I do know that he started out as a trumpet player, which he credited with giving him the breath control he later needed as a singer.

This happens a lot in the punk scene. A lot of punk guys go country when they get older. All the screaming wears on them. Chuck Ragan is one.

My Uncle had a 45 by a group called Ronnie and the Redcaps. He sold it at a garage sale for a quarter. Then found out later who the "Ronnie" was and the record was quite a collectors item.

Joe Jackson, though he went to his old style for Common People.
John Hiatt was new wave for a while.

Bob Dylan took on a different voice in his Nashville Skyline period.

God bless you and him always!!!

For a while I assumed "Warsaw" by Joy Division had a different singer, but it is in fact Ian Curtis He really changed his style on the later records.

Compare Roger Daltrey singing My Generation to Roger Daltrey singing Won't Get Fooled Again.
Brian Johnson of AC/DC wasn't nearly as screamy on the old Geordie stuff.

This is Alison Krauss in 1988 which is the year that she turned 17. Needless to say this is not the kind of singing that she is known for, but oh my goodness to me, this is a song that I wish had been done by her in the studio and released on an album, I love it so much!!! God bless you and Alison always!!! Holly (a fan of her since 1994)

George Jones imitated Hank Williams before developing his own style:
