No. I've had squid, but I've never had Octopus, or prepared either one. It'll be interesting to see if anyone has thoughts to share.

My grandma did. I remember her taking the ink sack out. Some other cartilage too Then she pounded it. Breaded and deep fat fried. It was good but way too much work nuts. Where did you buy it? Frozen or fresh?

Interesting. Do you remember if she cut the tentacles into "rounds," as they do with squid? Now, I want to taste it.

No, but I have seen it cooked in Greece. Super hot pan on the grill, garlic, oil and whatever else herbs were added.
Those who tried at the table were very content. I tried a small bite, tender, not rubbery.

I had it in Greece at a waterfront taverna, after I took a bite, someone pointed out to me a fisherman killing an octopus for the taverna, he kept slamming it against the rocks until it was dead, I couldn't eat anymore. Now I have a fish & seafood allergy so I can't eat anything from the sea except seaweed (which I enjoyed).

If he is anywhere near it being fixed his throat starts to close. It is scary! Is yours like that?

Bought it at Costco twice. One time it was gooey. Not recalling how I cooked it. I think just sauteed, and not for too long.

I got sick in Florida from shrimp, I got hives around my mouth, an itchy swollen throat and felt unwell. I thought I just got some bad shrimp. When we came back from our vacation, we went to a shrimp boil at the Isaac Walter League and the same thing happened. I asked the doctor if I should take something for it and he told me just not to risk eating it again because I could go into shock. I also got sick on Halibut. Strange thing is I can eat Caesar Salad with no problem and the Caesar dressing has pulverized anchovies in it.

I have reached my personal limits, I understand :-).

I am just not a big fan of sea food. My family was, growing up. I really do like battered white fish, also salmon cooked nicely. Shellfish and sushi no, but that never means you can't enjoy the company you keep when dining out.
