Uh, smoking is bad for you. We know that. But if nicotine possibly kills the virus on contact, I wouldn't be one of the sheeple hysterically quitting right now.
If the France study is correct, smoking may reduce your chances of catching this virus 7 times that of nonsmokers. For now at least, I'm gonna keep on puffin' away! Lol at idiots rushing to quit right now. " style="max-width:100%;"] Maybe it was just the way you said it's best to "quit smoking long term" since "long term smoking" is bad for you. Something about that just doesn't work right. I'm glad the world gave you a possibly valid reason to put quitting on the back burner, but you might want to wait on the jury before preaching about the health benefits of smoking during a pandemic that attacks the lungs specifically. If it's the nicotine that fights it, smoking wouldn't be necessary and you have to find another excuse. And you will. Because you don't have the proper mindset to quit. No, I meant that if smoking will ward off corona, then wait six months to quit until there's a vaccine for the virus and it's under control. That seems quite rational if nicotine does indeed inhibit the virus. To quit now thinking it will help your immune system against the virus may be foolish.
I know corona virus or no corona virus, smoking causes cancer and heart disease. I'm no fool. But if I haven't quit by now, 6 more months to ward off corona may be worth it.

Tosh Piffle Waffle & Nonsense Gamey. If you don’t want to give up smoking, fine, that is your prerogative. Just don’t give me ridiculous and asinine excuses and reasons as to why you wont give up. To me, I see that as masking your denial of addiction to smoking, be it for a fix or just to relieve the boredom.... Uh no, the French study in favor of nicotine was science. Your irrational hatred of smoking when studies show it might kill the corona virus is religious extremism.
I'll go with science over religion on this one, thank you very much. The extremism is behind your absurdity in thinking that smoking is going to prevent you from catching a virus that will likely do less harm to you than the long term health effects of your smoking. Yes, you are a fool and arrogant to boot....

No, the CDC will never recommend smoking. And they will go in the opposite direction and try to squash any public information which says nicotine may block the corona virus. They have a vested interest in saying smoking is bad, bad, BAD!!!
As for a "dick move", if nicotine blocks the virus and fools are quitting smoking now because of the virus, they're morons.

You know I am neither religious nor atheist either. If I had to choose between having covid-19 or one of the high risk ugly diseases associated with smoking, I would choose Coronavirus any day. If it does get eventually proven Nicotine is considered a relief and\or cure from the viral symptoms, I hardly think it is going to be recommended that it be smoked for medicinal purposes. Shame on you for endorsing smoking born out of your stupidity and self-absorbed obstinance.

Oy vey. It's dumb they're quitting now if nicotine kills the corona virus. I would wait and see what more researchers learn why smokers are not getting this virus as much as nonsmokers before I quit.

Smoking is not a sin. It won't kill you with one puff or even 10,000. It carries great risk with long term use. But plenty of people smoke for a few years then quit with no deleterious affects on their health.
I'm mocking your anti-smoking zeal and that of others which has reached a pitch of ignorant pseudo-religious ecstasy.
My bottom line here, if people are quitting smoking now to protect themselves from the corona virus, according to researchers in France and China they are doing themselves no favors. Wait until it subsides, because that nicotine may save their lives in the current pandemic. Quit after the virus is under control. Sheeesh. <<< [homo superior eyes]

Sorry, I'm a militant smoker and I believe the anti-smoking crusade has become a self-righteous pseudo-religious campaign of bitching, whining, and Prohibition. That being said, I know smoking is unhealthy and it's best to quit.
I'm not sure if it's conclusive or not that smoking inhibits the virus. But I do know if it is true there are forces in the healthcare industry which will do everything in their power to suppress any information. I just found the studies in favor of nicotine to be so deliciously ironic. I have no issue with any of what you say here. I have come across those people who do that annoyingly passive aggressive fake cough when they walk by a smoker. I agree it would be hilariously ironic if true. A daily combination of cigarettes, gin and marijuana works for me in keeping the COVID away.

A lot of politicisation of various things is going on these days. Here in India, HCQ has not been politicised as much as in the west. People are taking it in low dose (as per medical advise) as against the US where people took it in high dose and doctors and medical experts from the various regions of India see it as one of the treatments (mostly preventive and in mild case) of Coronavirus. theprint.in/health/researchers-smell-a-rat-say-expensive-remdesivir-getting-subtle-push-over-hcq-in-studies/471983/

Yes, I know you aren't really blowing smoke in people's faces, I just thought maybe you thought I was being sarcastic. I don't buy that smoking protects against the virus and even the articles about it say there is no conclusive evidence. Anti-smoking has become almost a religious cult belief at this point. Sure, there is no final word on whether or not nicotine kills covid on contact. But the anti-smoking cabal is scrambling to make sure it doesn't. Lol!
Once one catches any respiratory infection of course smoking is going to make it worse. If you get it, obviously, you quit smoking. But is nicotine preventative? It may be. People may be fools to quit now until we learn more. Obvious to whom? You can quit anytime you like Gamey. How pissed would you be if they banned cock smoking Toastie?
