The Last Crusade, though Raiders is of course very close.
It's ultimately the Ford/Connery pairing that puts Crusade over the top. I also like Elsa.

Raiders of the Lost Ark but with The Last Crusade being a close second.

And all night. Honorable mention to the much-despised Crystal Skull, which is a personal favorite. (Blasphemy, I know.)

I know no one will agree, but I always liked Temple of Doom the best. Sure Willie and Short Round were annoying, but I find it to be the most adventurous entry with the best atmosphere and the greatest villain as well.

Ark #1 Temple #2 Crusade #3 Skull - totally avoidable.
Anyone excited about the prospect of a fifth?

Raiders, of course, with Temple of Doom a close second.
Never warmed to Last Crusade as I thought it was silly to have a doddering old man tag along on Indy's adventure.
The less said about Crystal Skull, the better, IMHO.

I don't know if I voted in this one, but I would have voted for Temple.
I love all of them, though.

My ranking is sure to be controversial and turn some heads, but:
Temple Of Doom Raiders Crystal Skull Last Crusade
I love them all, but tend to enjoy Crusade the least due to being too slapsticky and comedic for my liking and too deriative of Raiders. Though I still enjoy it tremendously.

Never warmed to Last Crusade as I thought it was silly to have a doddering old man tag along on Indy's adventure. But you were ok with him bringing a screaming bimbo along in the previous film? I wouldn't call Henry Jones Sr. "doddering" because he brings out a more vulnerable side of Indy we haven't seen in the previous films and in Crusade's second half, he's driving the quest as much as Indy and gets in some badass moments like "Goose stepping morons like yourself should try reading books instead of burning them!"

Sounds like someone hasn't seen ToD in a long time and forgets certain sequences like the elephant trek through the jungle and "Chilled Monkey Brains". I wouldn't say Crusade is too derivative of Raiders either. While it has certain similarities, they're on a superficial level as the film charts its own course. Indy's relationship with his dad is different from that with Marion. The tone, mythology behind the artifacts, character relationships, locations and story arc with the Grail all are different from Raiders.

OK, ravi02, we get it, you like Last Crusade best. I stand by what I said. And Connery was just an older, male version of that bimbo.

I don't know if I voted in this one, but I would have voted for Temple. I love all of them, though. Same. Just something about the much darker, more eerie mood and backdrop of TOD that makes it my go-to Indy adventure.

The less said about Crystal Skull, the better, IMHO. While I enjoy TLC I too far prefer Indy as more of a rogue adventurer as he was in the first two, another reason I favor them. Although I did think it was a good change of pace at the time, I prefer a more rogue, mysterious Indy as opposed to one who has his family along for the ride like in 3 and 4.

And Connery was just an older, male version of that bimbo. Seriously? Henry Sr. is a well-developed character with a clear relationship with Indy that spans a range of emotions (funny, dramatic, sad and subtle signs of respect). He also has some connection to the film's main artifact and has a character arc where he grows as a result of his adventure (he learns there are more important things than historical artifacts). Towards the end, he gets to be part of the action as well and helps Indy fight the Nazis. Willie Scott on the other hand, is a demeaning role that requires Capshaw to do nothing but scream and complain about everything throughout. There's a reason why she's seen as a major step down from Marion Ravenwood.
