The article below is from Harper's Bazaar Magazine, which I don't read. But, I think that it has a reasonable reputation as not being one of those crazy tabloid publications, that print "bizarre" stories, about the Rich-and-Famous. It claims that Buckingham Palace has launched a brand of Gin, with flavorings from the Royal gardens. Does this sound to be accurate to our posters from the U.K.? I'm not being critical. I've visited the U.K., many times, and love it. (I was hoping to visit, again, next month ... until a little problem called Covid-19 interfered.) I have friends who are Anglophiles, and coming up to their 50th Anniversary. They also love Gin. I'd consider purchasing some, if it'll be sold in the U.S.. Anyone? www.harpersbazaar.com/celebrity/latest/a33310893/buckingham-palace-releases-new-brand-gin/

I would have thought Beefeater was the royal gin. From looking at the label anyway. By the way, it is widely reported that the queen likes a cocktail of gin and Dubonnet.

Beefeater would make sense. Maybe it's a Beefeater base with Royal botanicals added.

If I had to keep up her schedule at her age, AND deal with that crazy family, I'd drink several cocktails a day, too. She doesn't have to drive anywhere. I say "go for it."

She's 94, still walks around unaided. Still spry in her mind as a spring chicken.
Leave her msgesty alone.

I have great respect for her, and for the dignity with which she has carried out enormous duties/pressures for decades. I was not criticizing her.
I'm sorry that you took it that way.

You are not criticizing her at all. Other people always give her bitch because of all sorts of crap. I've gotten over the fact that's she had something to do with Diana but that's it. I don't blame her for taking a juniper berry tree she has on her property and wasting not wanting not. Good for her.

Our Betty is notoriously (or maybe endearingly would be the better term) frugal but she does like a glass or two of the good stuff, so the idea of her using the royal bath tubs to manufacture her own does not come as a surprise.

I found out that The Palace is selling the gin. Unfortunately, it's only available for sale/delivery in the U.K.. Had it not been for Covid-19, a small group of friends would have been traveling to the UK next month.
Maybe next year.
