The boy from Saint John in New Brunswick, Canada did rather well, acting in nearly 200 movies and television productions, in all kinds of genres, ranging from great and classic movies to the absolute worst, and grabbing two Golden Globes Awards along the way. Honored with an Academy Award Honorary Oscar in 2018, yet was never ever even nominated for any Oscar throughout his career, so far. A reminder of a few: Dr Terror's House of Horrors 1965 The Dirty Dozen 1967 Kelly's Heroes 1970 M*A*S*H 1970 Klute 1971 Don't Look Now 1973 1900 1976 Fellini's Casanova 1976 National Lampoon's Animal House 1978 Invasion of the Body Snatchers 1978 The Great Train Robbery 1979 Ordinary People 1980 Eye of the Needle 1981 A Dry White Season 1989 Backdraft 1991 Six Degrees of Separation 1993 Outbreak 1995 A Time to Kill 1996 Space Cowboys 2000 The Italian Job 2002 Pride and Prejudice 2005 The Hunger Games movies 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015 Ad Astra 2019 ...and many many more. Thanks for watching!

Makes every movie he's in a little bit better automatically just by his presence.
How was he not nominated for Ordinary People is beyond me.
As I was scrolling through the pictures you posted, I couldn't wait to see Mr X from JFK......please do your best. 😁

In his honor last night we watched a favorite -- as the romantic spy in EYE OF THE NEEDLE (great performance by fellow Canadian Kate Nelligan).

Donald Sutherland is really good.
I saw Ordinary People recently (I forget why I was even interested in seeing it) and he was impressive.
He’s good in everything he does.

Simply a wonderful actor. I’ve always seen it as shocking that he was the one member of the Ordinary People cast not nominated - I think he was the best of the cast. He should also have been nominated for his riveting monologue in JFK, and maybe for Don’t Look Now.
Perhaps there is a Christopher Plummer-style late-career award in his future. I’m sure he could easily pull it off with a solid role in a hit.

He's making a film called Armageddon Time? Could this be a feature film about the Clumsy Waiter?
