After watching movies this summer like The Old Guard, Eurovision and Disclosure I think Netflix’s future might be more in original movies over original series. Not that they can’t still make great series. I just think with all the new streaming services launching their edge could be in movies.

I'd argue with some exceptions of which feel like a rarity that any films produced through Netflix are great, although the upcoming slate looks somewhat promising.

it will be both, as studios pull their content for their own streaming services

Their early films were definitely poor, but I think they’ve increasingly have gotten better. The Irishman was great, and a lot of the stuff they’ve been putting out this summer is very good. I feel like the more stuff they make the better they are getting at producing feature films.

I could see them producing movies and TV shows (web series).
Not necessarily writing and directing.

They need both.
I don’t really care for most of their movies beyond the ones they push for Oscars.
