I used to have the most horrible, almost nightly, dreams. Now, though not terrifying, they are usually on the same theme of me not having done what I was supposed to do, which makes me frantic. I have had a lot of those and still do on occasion. In my case, usually about being in college and suddenly realizing I haven't shown up for any classes all semester. What is strange about that is that I have never taken as much as a full year of college. Just a few courses. I have also had a few of the legendary "actor's nightmares", that stage actors get, when I worked in theatre. They involve forgetting lines, missing rehearsals and not being able to find the theatre on the night of a performance. Sounds very similar to mine. I usually dream that I haven't checked, or prepared work, for my students, (I'm a teacher) and it makes me feel that I've failed, which causes a lot of stress.

I think your dreams would probably be animated. You'd think so but aside from the initial visions my dreams are rather free of animated content(except for one unusual dream that I had one time before I woke up and one that was like motion graphics on the meaning of life, one time that was one of my more vivid dreams). My dreams are more like a surreal novel or a movie like Last Year at Marienbad(which isn't much of an influence seeing as I first saw it not too long ago). I've had dreams that looked like computer graphics. Maybe Spectrum 48K, or Commodore 64K.
If you get a chance, give some of 'Marienbad' writer Alain-Robbe Grillet's films a try, if you've not already seen any. They are often dreamlike.

I'll try one of his films out soon. I have had some video game dreams but they're not all that different visually from other dreams of mine, since my dreams are already rather murky.

I’ve actually been troubled today by a long, vivid dream I had last night in which my kids were in danger. It felt so real and it hasn’t faded like most dreams do.
The bad part is that my kids were put in danger because of my unintentional negligence. I feel like I need to be absolved for something I did in a dream.

And I haven’t shared any of these kind of dreams because most people would think they don’t mean anything. And usually I think other people’s dreams sound boring when they describe them, so I wouldn’t want to bore them with mine.

A recurring dream I have that always causes me stress is that I’m back in high school and I cannot for the life of me remember where my locker is located, much less the combination.

I have had precognitive dreams, approximately 250 lucid dreams, and I have also experienced vibrational state twice. Once I asked an important question before going to sleep and received an answer to it in a dream. I have also had an OBE once, and it was clearly not a dream. Although I haven't managed to induce an OBE yet by using dream conversion, the results have nevertheless been interesting. Sometimes I have seen the background behind the dream and two times the result has been vibrational state. Recently I have tried to convert lucid dream into OBE, and I have found myself in a pleasant darkness. Floating in that dark void was both relaxing and invigorating. Most of my dreams are very mundane and boring, though. I've had precognitive dreams as well, mostly during the early visual stages of sleep. For me, they happen a few years ahead of time so it's difficult to discern them from other images that my brain just conjured up. I've never had any of the other experiences like an OBE or a dark void. The closest I've gotten to a dark void is dreamless sleep.

I think all dreams have meaning to some extent since it comes from our brains and our subconscious. Even if the dream itself makes no sense at times there are still some parts that represent some truth or true feelings you have deep down. I have a hard time remembering my dreams most of the time after an hour of waking up. I always think about writing them down so I won’t forget but never do.

I used to keep a dream journal, but in trying to do justice to my dreams I would try to get every minute detail recorded and sometimes I'd end up spending two hours writing everything down. It just swallowed up so much of my time and I couldn't keep up that pace. Besides, I have very good dream recall. I am very lucky that way.
