Keenan could really do it all, whether high comedy or low; searing drama; the nicest to the nastiest; the amiably amusing or the obnoxiously annoying. A standout is the cold-blooded killer whose act may have been been the result of virulent racism or out-and-out insanity in the hard-to-find Man In the Middle, a courtroom drama set in the waning days of WWII in which defense council Robert Mitchum comes to discover that very little about the case he's been assigned is as it first appears.

A fine actor indeed. Sure did a lot of television work as well. I especially enjoyed his appearance as Captain Joe "Mad Dog" Siska in Kolchak: The Night Stalker. ("Well, to tell you the truth, you're not OK! The people in group therapy didn't tell me I was ever gonna meet anybody as un-OK as you are!")

Put me down as another Keenan Wynn fan.
When he whispered you could hear him in the next county.
The Man In The Funny Suit (Playhouse 90) which reveals Ed Wynn's struggle to master his first dramatic role as Army in Requiem For A Heavyweight was on Youtube some time back; may still be there. I saw the original broadcast and searched for it for years before finally getting a copy.
Wynn father and son were courageous in revealing such an intimate and heartbreaking personal story.

I first became aware of him when, and have followed his career since, he played Yost in Point Blank (1967) dir: John Boorman.

Love Keenan Wynn! It seemed like he was in every live-action Disney movie I saw as a kid, tons of classics, plus, he replaced David Wayne as Digger Barnes on TV's Dallas. I just watched him most recently a few weeks ago in Piranha (1978), in which he has an unfortunate encounter with those nasty fishies!
