I don't agree. Just because some people are immune to this new disease, is no reason to put others at risk. Everyone should socially distance, avoid big crowds, and wear a mask when they can't. Hand washing regularly should have been done even before the Coronavirus. People are dying. And others are left with permanent internal injuries. Not to mention, hospitals are being overwhelmed. Resulting in nurses and doctors dying. You misunderstand me. I'm not saying we shouldn't take precautions, avoid crowds, keep 6 feet from people, wear a mask. I'm saying it's sad that we are forced to live in a world of fear. We have to act cowardly because we have no other choice.
We must pull back and avoid other people. That's weak and cowardly. But that's what the world has become.
Even if the virus was to disappear tomorrow, people will still live in fear of other people. That's not a good thing.
I don't think it's cowardly. A coward is a person who lacks the courage to do or endure dangerous or unpleasant things. People who self isolate, social distance and wear masks are not lacking the courage to do and endure doing unpleasant things. Yeah, it's sad we can't live a normal life. But that's what being a hero is. Employing the sacrifice and discipline to do what's necessary to deal with and overcome a threat.

As Josef Stalin once said, it would take a very brave man to not be a hero in the Soviet Army.

Of course it's not personal cowardice to wear a mask and stand 6 feet from your neighbor. It's just creates a social breakdown, further alienation.
They talk about systemic racism. Now I'll coin a new meme: SYSTEMIC COWARDICE. First of all, I don't find it "sad". For me it's more aggravating than sad. There are things I'd like to be doing, that I can't because of this stupid pandemic, and it's necessary restrictions. Secondly, I think "cowardice" is the wrong word. Nothing cowardly about trying to deal effectively with this Coronavirus. If anything, I think it's "heroic" what the medical care workers are doing. And what those abiding by the restrictions are doing. Especially those who think they are not personally at risk. Making personal sacrifices to protect others. To the contrary, it's the opposite of heroism what people like The Herald Erjen are professing to do. Selfish and stupid.

Lol. I've seen that type of irrational nonsense too. I saw a girl jogging with a mask on. OMFG!
I don't live alone but I never wear one in the house. I can't imagine wearing a mask 24/7. I wonder are there couples who wear them when they're alone together in private?
What about mothers with small children? Little kids are notorious as germ carriers. If her kids have been out to play with other kids, does she wear a mask all day around her children while at home?
I think no. Consensus says people don't wear masks around family. Little kids need to visualize facial expressions to learn how to communicate. And little kids need affection (hugs and kisses) to be healthy emotionally. This is extremely true with regards to human development, and children, especially babies in those early years, must see facial expressions. However, there are new studies coming out recommending some families wear masks indoors IF there are multiple generations living within the same household, and this is causing backlash because people are viewing this as racist because it tends to affect Hispanic people disproportionately. But Hispanic families are just generally more family-oriented, and that's not meant to be "racist" it's just about big families who have their parents and grandparents living together. That's all. The purpose for this is fragile and elderly people are within the same household as younger people who might be going out to parties and perhaps bringing something back into the household (as opposed to families with only 2, 3 or 4 people). It's all about context.

No, I don't. I wouldn't even wear a mask in a public building if it weren't "the Law." Why? Do you believe the virus isn’t serious enough to wear one?
