Part I:
-- I regret having to make the following post, but my hand has been forced.
-- Temporary health problems were not the only reason for canceling today's contest.
-- This month would have closed with about 330 contests since this site was created in late February of 2017.
-- There were nearly as many more during the prior years at the previous IMDb Game Board.
-- Naturally, I could not create 600-plus quizzes without repeating a few along the way.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Part II:
-- My usual procedure for repeated contests would be to go back two or three years.
-- I would check to see how many current players were participants at the previous quiz, and settle on one that had only 3-4 familiar names.
-- I usually adjusted the original quiz, subtracting some elements while adding others (a 50-item quiz might lose 10 but would add 20).
-- The original quiz would then be deleted and the subject matter renamed, and all my comments were deleted as well.
-- Thus far there have been no complaints, the original players participated again but did not dominate, and new participants signed on and did well.

Part III:
-- 18 months ago I posted a contest that dated back four years to the previous board, where the ability to make deletions was unfortunately not available.
-- A then-regular player whom I will now refer to as 'M' signed on and completely dominated the game, without posting a single halfer or NTA.
-- 60 items were in that original (increased to 80 in the new quiz), and 'M' scored 58 in record time -- all in the same order while not bothering to attempt any of the new 20.
-- It was obvious what 'M' had done -- found the old quiz and tried to pass it off as quality playing.
-- I let the situation pass at first, but did not do the usual congratulatories -- so 'M' decided to congratulate and toast himself.
-- That did it ... in a PM (I didn't want to go public and embarrass him) I laid out the evidence in detail, which he tried to deny.
-- 'M" then left the Garth Games in a snit, threatening never to darken our doors again.
-- But before departing, he insisted that I quit posting at another activity that we both enjoyed and often frequented -- but my refusal to do so made him all the more angry.
-- 'M' has not posted under that name since ... anywhere on any board.

Part IV:
-- About a week later a new player came on board, was welcomed, and started to do extremely well ... I'll call this player 'R' (later changed to 'E').
-- I didn't notice at first that 'R' was usually absent from completely original contests, but was dominant in recycled (and deleted) games ... but only in the original items, not in any of the additionals.
-- 'R' continued to dominate the games for months, but the tipoff was the recycled (from two years back) Christmastime IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE quiz.
-- Of the 80 IAWL questions, 'R' answered 52 of them inside 40 minutes, posting 3 at a time in the original order every 3 minutes.
-- 'R' made the excuse that it was a favorite film that was so well known to 'R.'
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Part V:
-- Shortly thereafter a regular player here posted me a PM, pointing to a blog that contained many Garth Games appearing as is and in full.
-- Though the blog was authored by an unfamiliar name, it carried the image of former player 'M' and also included PMs I had exchanged with player 'R'.
-- the dates on the postings showed that it had been going on for over a year.
-- I sent a PM to player 'R' (now known as 'E'), requesting no more participation until this could be sorted out and explained away.
-- The very next day (what a coincidence!) all of the Garth Games on the blog were deleted, and player 'E' has not posted anything since on any board.
-- One more thing ... player 'E's new name is (wait for it) 'R' LOVES 'M'

I posted these five parts as a preliminary to the current situation that has brought about the newest concern.
I'll deal with that in the next bloc -- you have enough to chew on right there for now.
