Some covid cases have got to be expected, other than the Marlins outbreak MLB has seen very few covid cases, they’ve got to learn to play around them, if they had gotten their act together and started the season a month earlier, then they would’ve had more time to make up games postponed due to covid. I’m not sure what more he wants MLB to do. Shutting down now would be giving in to the corona fearmongers and would likely mean the end of sports until their is a vaccine, which is what I get the feeling some people want to happen, I’m not sure why, but a lot of people seem to be rooting for the virus to destroy sports. I don’t see why they should shut down, the season has gone pretty well other than the Marlins debacle.

Good. Shut it down as it never should have started up in the first place.

It’s a bullshit season anyway with made up rules and games being cancelled left and right. And for what? Does it mean anything for whatever team “wins” this year? It’s a glorified exhibition. If the Phillies”won” this year I wouldn’t give 2 shits about it. Just call it a day so that you have plenty of time to fuck up the 2021 season.

IM SHOCKED!!
This season means nothing. Its got bastardized rules and weird ass roster makeup. Even though its on I'm still not watching it because of it. Nobody is actively rooting for the virus its just that some people don't see why its so important for such a shit faced drunken blackout of a season to happen at this point. Its one thing to try and finish the NBA and NHL season, its another to try and start the MLB season. The Marlins trying to hide their cases is going to ruin sports for everybody. If you think NFL players and coaches aren't going to try and break the rules than you're insane. We already see the Raiders and Bucs practicing at there facility fields when its against the rules to do so til August 3rd or 4th. The virus doesn't give a shit if you're Tom Brady or Nathan Peterman. People need to stop acting like the virus doesn't exist or affect them like dumbass in chief wants.

If they do cancel it, at least let the 2 winningest teams start an extra inning with the bases loaded. They should find a WS winner from that in about 21 minutes.

There wouldn't be any more holes in the schedule to fit in makeup games.

I think the NHL and NBA will be able to finish their seasons assuming their 'bubbles' are as secure as they say.
I always felt baseball would have the hardest time getting a season in given they play almost every day. Football should have the easiest time getting a season in. They play once a week and have a bye so even if a team gets shut down for 2 weeks that's fairly easy to make up.

The Reds could sweep the Yankees in the World Series and it would mean nothing to me. End it now and don’t wait until half the league is sick.

It is now being reported that multiple Cardinals players/coaches have tested positive in Friday's testing. My jaw dropped the 1st exhibition/scrimmage game where I saw it wasn't mandated that everybody is to wear masks. You've got all these people not in a 'Bubble' environment like the NBA.
Then you've got the batter, standing in front of the catcher, who's squatting in front of the ump.
You could have a player on 1st base, standing next to the 1st baseman, standing next to the ump, standing next to the 1st base coach.
Jaw dropping and an absolutely piss poor job of carting this sh*tshow out there as if they've never heard of mask wearing/social distancing over the last 5 months. If you can't social distance in situations like the above - it should have been mandated everybody was to wear a mask.
