You're right. I remember for years we've been getting an annual list on IMDB from various posters over the years - and soccer was represented very well (high). What happened? Not really sure. Possible reason: money from TV deals has plateaued over here now. May even start decreasing. I think they have just measured the assets in a way so as to get more number of US teams. The US has 4 times the population of any single European country so measured on assets the US teams are generally going to be valued more than European sides but European clubs have greater quality of income and more diversified source of Income.

You could be right. I don't really know. TV companies have started to realise they're paying too much for the rights to show football in Europe though. Not sure what the situation is in the US.

Surprised there isn't an NHL team in there, considering goalie is the most important position in all of sports.
