www.bbc.co.uk/sport/scotland/53456992Yup, correct choice was made! The votes have been cast and the verdict is in. Thousands of you have chosen Scotland's greatest sporting moment and, in the end, there was a clear winner. Celtic's 1967 European Cup win over Inter - the first time a British team had won the competition - claimed almost half of the vote, with Andy Murray's first Wimbledon win in 2013 a distant second. No other achievement garnered more than 10%, with Scotland's 1990 Grand Slam in third and Chris Hoy's record-breaking sixth Olympic gold fourth.

Interesting. I remember when they did a similar pole for Australia, the top 10 included domestic sporting moments like Newcastle beating Manly in NRL Grand Final, Port ending Brisbane's 4 year dominance of the AFL, Brisbane winning 3 in a row, Melbourne winning the 1999 NRL Grand Final. One was a loss: the 2005 Ashes. And, of the national successes, only Steve Waugh's last ball hundred against England at the SCG was in a mainstream sport. The others were Steven Bradbury winning a speed skating gold medal, Cathy Freemsn winning the 400m gold medal, Australia qualifying for the 2006 soccer World Cup and Australia II winning the America's Cup: the end of a 127 year run for the NY Yacht Club.

Shouldn't Jackie Stewart get a look in? Still joint 5th in all time F1 drivers with 3 world championships.

Have you watched it all, aj? It's not great, but passes the time pleasantly enough.

I guess fans of that other Glasgow team must not have been too happy with this choice...

I guess fans of that other Glasgow team must not have been too happy with this choice... If they were honest, they'd probably agree!

Have you watched it all, aj? It's not great, but passes the time pleasantly enough. Yes, Carl. I am a very very big fan of great Alastair Sim and see his movies very frequently although I have only seen Geordie once and that was way back in 2008. So I am probably going to see it second time soon. I had enjoyed my first viewing.
