I didn't put a few obvious choices on my list, because I didn't necessarily want to allow for a title that might rule over the others. But 1978 may be, for me, the most fun year for movies ever. I have seen every movie on the list, and with the exception of "Same Time, Next Year" (which is okay, pleasant enough), I like them all very much. They would all be (except for the Alan Alda one) in my all time top 75.
It was somewhat hard to choose five.
1. "Halloween" 2. "Coma" 3. "La Cage Aux Folles" 4. "Jaws 2" 5. "Invasion of the Body Snatchers"
I can't wait to read people's picks!

It was very good and one of the few Dustin Hoffman performances that I really like. "Magic" was pretty good. Anthony Hopkins used to be very cute, I thought.

Foul Play Midnight Express Damien: Omen 2 Death on the Nile Halloween top 10 Newsfront Superman The Wild Geese The Silent Partner The Driver Days of Heaven The Chant of Jimmie Blacksmith Who'll Stop the Rain The Shout Heaven Can Wait "The Chant of Jimmie Blacksmith" was gruelling. I got so angry for Jimmie. His victims were very unlikable people.

1. Dawn of the Dead 2. Halloween 3. Animal House 4. Up in Smoke 5. Superman 6. Grease 7. I Spit On Your Grave 8. Damien: Omen II 9. The Deer Hunter 10. Foul Play I love "The Deer Hunter" and it would easily be in my top 20 movies, but being a **** Best Picture type, I didn't want to place it among the other, more modest offerings.

Dawn of the Dead Martin The Deer Hunter Animal House Blue Collar Cool! Please check the boxes so Martin can have his first friend! 🥰 Martin was actually filmed in 76', but copyrighted 77' where it had limited engagements. I think it was more widely released in 78', so I guess that makes it more of a 78' release. Apparently Romero was very fond of this film.

I have seen it twice and I have on dvd, but haven't watched it again yet. I don't think I really want too. The film makes me very angry too. He committed a heinous crime, yet pushed so far that it almost seems acceptable.

I was thinking a few minutes ago about another way to describe how I feel about the movie. I think Jimmie was a really good guy who did an awful thing whereas his victims were not good people at all and had something terrible happen to them.
