Major golf live in primetime ftw. Course looks pretty sassy. No fans reminds me of a video game.

Rough looks brutal. Well worth giving up a few yards if by doing so you can attack the greens from the fairways.

I usually take a foursome to follow in a major... Hadwin, Fowler, Tiger, & Reed. I'll be honest, I wasn't certain the international flavour this pandemic year in the states.

His iron game is top 5. He'll need his putter & woods to be top 15'ish to be in the mix.

Tiger is using a heavier putter this week. He had been leaving a lot of putts short this year, so I would see him in top 10

Martin Kaymer, former PGA Champion opened with a 66 which was the worst score he deserved. (His chipping is just about up to my standard). Yesterday, in contrast, he scored 82.
Golf can be a weird and cruel game.
Reminds me of Ian Baker-Finch, a former Open champion, who also inexplicably lost form. He played his last Open at St. Andrews. Those of you who know the Old Course will be aware that the first hole runs alongside the 18th, although in different directions. Playing the 18th, the concern for the player is the out of bounds to the right and for those teeing off at the 1st, the same. OOB is to the right. Ian to my knowledge is the only player to go out of bounds to the right of the 18th fairway from the 1st tee. It wasn't a hook. It might have been an attempted fade that went awry but in his own words "Quite wisely, I decided to stop playing golf after that tournament". He was 36 years old.

I'm not getting to see it, but I'll be checking the leaderboard, which is currently rather interesting. Though I doubt it will stay that way, the usual suspects are well in the hunt, so another Koepka or DJ win wouldn't be a huge surprise.

I fancied Morikawa but would never have put money on him because he is so young and new to Pro golf, although he had won already. Well done.
