I don't think any real "movie lover" would choose "Sea of Love" instead. That's for sure. What's wrong with Sea of Love? ...I'm getting sick of your whining. Just because I didn't list one movie that you liked, you're going on and on about it like a pathetic baby. If you don't like my selection, go create your own poll.

• Batman - Easily the best and most anticipated film of 1989. • Field of Dreams - It was his dad all along! • When Harry Met Sally - I love Harry's speech at the end. • Say Anything - The radio scene that would be imitated for years.

I recently posted that 1983 was perhaps the worst year for English-language movies. 1989 is as bad, but with very few good films from other countries to save the day.
I picked two from your list: -- Crimes and Misdemeanours - one of Woody's best -- Batman - Burton was still edgy in those days but I have not seen any of the later ones
The only other one I have seen complete is Glory which was o.k.
Other films I liked that year are: -- Do the Right Thing (Spike Lee) -- Black Rainbow (Mike Hodges) - the only film of his I like besides the excellent "Get Carter". Two scenes are superb, but let down by the ending and I find Tom Hulce disconcerting in all his movies. -- Scandal (Michael Caton-Jones) - rather prosaic telling of a promising tale. Maybe they were hedged in by libel lawyers. I remember when it was in production Stephen Frears was slated to direct. A pity he did not. Would not make my list in a better year, but worth a watch. -- The Wolves of Willoughby Chase (Stuart Orme) - decent children's film and an early example of an alternative steampunk timeline. -- Monsieur Hire (Patrice Leconte) - best of a weak year in France -- Black Rain (Shôhei Imamura) - not Ridley Scott's tedious thriller of the same name and year but a serious drama about the aftermath of the Hiroshima bombing, something both Japanese and Americans usually prefer to forget.
I have not seen The Decalogue (Krzysztof Kieslowski) but had I done so I imagine it would have been on my list.
