I’m ok with it, though Biden could have probably picked the corpse of Jeffrey Epstein and I still wouldn’t vote for Trump. This is not a knock on Harris when I say that she is probably the safe pick to make in 2020, which in itself shows how times have changed. I preferred Klobuchar if he was going to pick a woman with Harris becoming AG if they won but it’s all good.

Of the African-American women he was looking at, she felt the most national in scope, which I think is important since many are at least mildly concerned about his health (having a mayor as vice president would have been too dicey for many). You really don't gain anything by taking someone from California, but she's female and black (which they obviously wanted) but also Asian and somebody that who slammed him in the primaries, so it shows that he doesn't hold grudges, something that independents could very easily be tired of Trump for. You're absolutely right - - 2000 me can't believe that Harris would be the safe pick, but I think she actually is.

I had seen a documentary on him 5 years back. His health had deteriorated a lot and he was confined to wheelchair. He wasn't a great technical wrestler but his character was likeable.

I wasn't aware. Was just reading up on him.
Apparently Vince used to short change him - I think he had a foot or leg amputated too.

Living in the Midwest I have been following her for a few years now. She would of made an excellent choice. She wouldn't hide in the back round like Mike Pence. I think she would be like Biden was when he was VP, hands on and willing to take on anything. She is also very likeable unlike Harris

Shows how much attention I pay to US politics, which has been a Magical Mystery Tour for much of the last decade, particularly the Trump years, but I automatically thought this thread was about the pro wrestler who passed away yesterday.
I didn't envy the choice faced by US voters between the Orange Man and your senile grandfather on a day pass from the home, I envy you even less with Harris thrown in as the Lady In Waiting.
Never has Jay Leno's line "If God had intended us to have elections he would have given us candidates," seemed more relevant.

He was working and enjoying life as a truck driver before serious diabetes led to him losing his legs. He actually died from a heart attack after contracting covid. Some facts that will interest you: he was Hulk Hogan's 4th highest drawing prigram behind Savage, Andre and Orndorff. He and Jerry Lawler drew a 6500 crowd when they toured a town of 5,000 people. They also sold out the Memphis auditorium in 1983, one of the last matches to do so. His feud with the Von Erich's was one of thw biggest drawing programs in WCCW history. He refused to deal with WWE again after Summerslam 1992 after he received $15,000 for his match while his opponent, The Undertaker, reportedly received only $500. |

Likeable may not be important here, especially when she takes on Pence in debate.
