Hard pass for me.
It's probably because I've been so used to the taste of red licorice.
Speaking of salty licorice:
A friend of mine posted a video of him on facebook - trying some salted Finnish licorice for the first time. He must have got it when he went over to Finland for the World Junior Hockey Championship.
His facial reaction to it was PRICELESS!

Joker's Wilde Red licorice isn’t really all that licoricey. There is raspberry and strawberry in the supermarkets. I prefer the raspberry. Black licorice appears to be an either love it or hate it taste with not much in between. The first time I tried salted I grimaced but quickly got used to it.

I like the flavor. I usually get my fix with black jelly beans and Good n' Plenty. Black licorice matters.

I love it but for some reason I don’t eat it as much as I used too. Perhaps I’m worried about turning into Bertie Bassett.

Being of Portuguese descent, my grandma made a soup out of sweet anise which has licorice flavor. I would go visit and she would cut off a sprig for me. It had licorice flavor. I love it! Good memory.
And yes I love black licorice!
Good and plenty's are my movie candy.
Though I haven't been to the movies in years.
Now I want black licorice!

I'm Dutch myself and I love licorice! I don't know if you mean Dutch heritage or you live in Holland stratego But I gotta tell you! I taught school for the Dept of defense in Germany. The Germans didn't care for us. BUT if we went to Holland the people were so nice to us. The Dutch didn't hate us! It was so fun visiting Holland. Do the Dutch make sweet anise into a soup? I think it is particular to the Azores Island my grands were from ; the Flores. Our 2 ancestral lands had a good run from 1400's to 1600's. Lol

I love it but for some reason I don’t eat it as much as I used too. Perhaps I’m worried about turning into Bertie Bassett. I used to love Licorice Allsorts and we can get Bassets here in Oz. Thing is, all brands of licorice allsorts I find to have gelatine in them and being vegetarian for 20yrs I avoid.

I simply adore licorice! Even as a little kid, when children didn't like it, I enjoyed black licorice.

Believe me, I eat a lot of junk, but try as best as I can to avoid slaughtered animal byproducts in junk food and sweets. Have to make the occasional allowance.

I like black licorice also. Is anybody familiar with horehound candy? It is an indescribable taste but does remind me of black licorice.
