Examples:
Chris Jericho vs Nakamura: Chris Jericho loves wrestling guys with a lot of international experience and Nakamura is one of them. He's from Japan where Chris Jericho made a nice little home for himself for a while, and as a fellow "Rockstar". They were both apart of Smackdown, but Jericho left before they could cross paths unfortunately.
Edge vs Jon Moxley: Another situation in which the timing was off. Jon Moxley formerly known as Dean Ambrose, had a pretty successful career in WWE as the unhinged, masochistic, hardcore, "Lunatic Fringe", a name which a wrestler like Edge could relate to as the Rated "R" Superstar with all the crazy matches and segments he's had throughout his career. Unfortunately he came back to WWE over a year after Dean Ambrose became Jon Moxley over at AEW.
Bobby Lashley vs Brian Cage: Two big guys with sharp dressed, managerial, high bidders who know how to make them look good and surrounds them with new gold.
The Viking Raiders vs Jurassic Express: A match for the ages, because even though both teams are wrestling at the same time, their gimmicks represent for two different eras in history.
William Regal vs Cody Rhodes: Triple H runs NXT, but I think William Regal would have better chemistry with AEW's owner, Cody Rhodes. He's already had a little history with Goldust, which could factor into this matchup.
Woken Matt vs Demon King: Matt Hardy and Finn Balor both tapping into their inner power to bring about the best versions of themselves.
Awesome Kong vs Asuka: This would be interesting because these two have such larger than life, mythological phenomenons surrounding their reputations, as they're both known for victimizing their opponents. Asuka with her prestigious lethal skills and poisonous deceit aren't to be taken lightly and gives her power as the "Empress" of Tomorrow", while Awesome Kong is such a force of nature, she makes no bones about breaking any off of anybody.
Brodie Lee vs Aleister Black: The mastermind behind the "Dark Order" and the loner "Satanist".
What are your WWE vs AEW dream matches folks?

Number 1, and I think you might like this, has to be Alexa Bliss versus the Abadon. Bliss is arguably wrestlings' greatest reaction artist and number one cosplay artist, whereas the newly unearthed Abadon monster is the indie underground's slithering secret weapon.
I'll be back ...

^ I could see this working since Alexa is always around scary or dangerous wrestlers like Nikki Cross, Nia Jax, Braun Strowman, and now the Fiend. She would have her hands full with Abadon, and most likely would be better off trying to outsmart her as a heel. This way she could set the feud with her in motion better with her mouth, and take the fight to her better as she's more aggressive and misleading.
This match could even be an "Extreme Rules" match, which is actually up Alexa's alley since she's undefeated in specialty matches. It would give her an advantage and just bring about more drama to the match.

^^ Btw, Alexa would probably look like more of a match for someone like Abadon if she joins the Fiend. She would be the new Sister Abigail which is what Abadon looks like she can pass for herself.

This sounds promising. And I like your idea of extreme rules. Alexa Bliss showed in the elimination chamber she can't be taken lightly under testing conditions or in challenging environments. For the Abadon, she gets the chance to claim a new plaything.

Honorable mentions goes out to Chris Jericho vs Adam Cole and AJ Styles vs Kenny Omega. Everybody must want to fight the legend that is Chris Jericho, while he's still near the top of his game.
And that other match-up could set up a contender for fight of the year. I've become a huge Kenny Omega fan now I get to see him wrestle regularly, and Adam 'Hangman' Page compliments him well in the AEW tag team division. They are two great talents and AJ Styles is pure class with talent to burn.

Two match-ups I think could be intriguing, for different reasons.
A battle of the backstage bullies between Randy Orton and Lance Archer, with Rick Flair and Jake Roberts in their respective corners. These odious individuals are just plain nasty and Vince McMahon would be in hardbody heaven. I wouldn't root for either man, I'd just like to see them beat the hell out of each other.
And one I think could benefit all involved. I'm not sold on the dark order in AEW though it does provide a platform for wrestlers struggling in singles competition. Stick a mask on them and they're good to go. The Exalted One, Mr. Brodie Lee, is formidable but his mignons continually let him down. Only Anna Jay and Colt 'Boom Boom' Cabana have really come through for him so far.
So, he sends his posse after an old rival, John Cena. We know Cena can take a beatdown and his superhuman strength ensures he'll mount a successful fightback. But how can he cope with the sheer numbers of the dark order? By striking up an alliance with an old foe who also needs a boost, the Modern Maharaja, Jinder Mahal, the man Randy Orton called "the man". They would take the dark order out, one by one, leading to a showdown with the two main men. As I see it, the only question left to answer, is, would they be so fatigued and battle-scarred, there'd be nothing left in the tank to tackle Cabana and Lee?

I like this idea. I haven't paid too much attention to Lance Archer admittedly, but I like the similarities you pointed out, and i'd love to see Jake Roberts and Ric Flair have at it in some way. Those two don't have much history together.
Jinder Mahal would have to be a babyface then no doubt, which is what he has yet to do since he became a main eventer. John Cena on the other hand would be on schedule as the big time hero in this scenario as he attempts to save wrestling from the scary power of the Dark Order, while also seeing Brodie Lee in a new light since the last time they wrestled each other when Brodie Lee was Luke Harper. He was a henchman then, but now he's the brains behind everything.

You'd also have two extravagant characters in Cabana and Mahal flanking two performers who are just so at ease on the microphone. Brodie Lee comes across as being extremely intelligent, erudite and cultured, he's also very well-spoken; he could have a career in audiobooks if he wasn't wrestling. And John Cena needs no introduction on the mic, he always gets a crowd reaction, be it positive or negative.
