Basically, I'd keep their origins rooted during the 1960's where it started but have their ship get sucked into a vortex which doesn't allow them to crash into Earth till contemporary times.
Reed / Mr. Fantastic - Jon Hamm, Matt Bomer, Jim Cavizel, Richard Armitage, Hugh Dancy, John Krasinski
Sue / Invisible Woman -- Rosamund Pike, Anna Torv, Claire Danes, Diane Kruger, Ruth Wilson, Hannah New
Ben / The Thing -- Mark Wahlberg, Donnie Wahlberg, Kevin Durand, Jason Clarke
Johnny / Human Torch -- Taron Egerton, Dylan O'Brien, Austin Butler, Jeremy Shada
Doom - Richard Armitage( If he can't be Reed), Toby Stephens, Sean Bean, James Purefoy, Goran Visnjic, Luke Goss, Mathieu Amalric
Dir. Brad Bird

I would have someone like Brad Bird or Justin Lin direct it. It'd go for the same epic Avengers feel that script by Jeremy Slater aimed for.
CAST
Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic - Andrew Garfield
Susan Storm/Invisible Woman - Emma Roberts
Johnny Storm/Human Torch - Glenn Powell
Ben Grimm/The Thing - Jack O'Connell
Victor Von Doom/Doctor Doom - Adam Driver
Annihilus - Bill Nighy (voice)
STORY
The characters are introduced as all working at the Baxter Building (NASA meets Silicon Valley) and Doom is a treacherous Latverian scientist in exile named Victor (he hates their government which executed his mother Cynthia Von Doom who was a terrorist). They then are all sent on an expedition to explore the Negative Zone discovered by Richards and Victor. They all gain their powers from an encounter with Annihilus who has plans to invade the Earth for the evuls. Knowing this, the FF set up HQ at the Baxter Building and prepare for the invasion. Victor however plots an alliance with Annihilus whereby the Earth is his but Victor rules Latveria as its protector from harm at Annihilus' hands. His powers are the most unstable out of the characters so Victor begins wearing a specialized body armor and mask. The FF discover this and fight him in NYC where he attempts to contact Annihilus. They rescue innocent bystanders in the process and capture Victor. Annihilus begins his attack on Earth and the FF use their powers to fight off his army which includes Blastaar and Stygorr as henchmen. They reluctantly enlist Victor to help them. He appears to betray the FF to Annihilus but tricks him so that they can defeat the invaders. The FF are hailed as heroes and pledge to defend the Earth from future attacks. The ending of the movie is Victor launches a massive assault on Latveria with doombots. Once toppling the government, he assumes the title Doctor Doom and the people accept him as their leader. End Credits.

I want to see Marvel's first family take on a new mission and moniker.
It's time for the world to meet the new FF. The Future Foundation.
Part think tank. Part philanthropic organization. Part combat team. All superheroes.

Whatever they do I feel it has to be an origin story. It would be a huge mistake to not show them getting and reacting to their powers. Also it's important to see what the relationships/character dynamics are before they become superheroes.

I feel they should skip the origin story, like that video I posted on the Fox-Men board. Just let a tour group that enters the Baxter Building see a short, animated version of their origin in the lobby while they're touring it, since the FF are celebrities.

I think it should be kind of a MacGuyver-ish/Indiana Jones adventure movie. Have Reed's genius rival Stark's. Show him building/creating practically anything on their adventures. Like in Iron Man 3 when Stark built an Iron Man "suit" out of the stuff from the store. But when Reed made something it would look like he legit made it in a lab. Like "Reed, there ain't no tv out here for that remote." "Ben, this is a molecular [scientific mumbo jumbo] destabilizer." "What?" "It paralyzes."
And just make him smart. Don't make him overly nerdy like the other F4 movies. I kinda envision him as someone Benedict Cumberbatch would play. But more Sherlock/Khan than Dr. Strange/Stark-ish. Give him more dry humor than "this is me being funny!!" like Stark. Maybe something like Star Lord's humor. I think Pratt goes more dry humor than overtly look-at-me funny in Guardians.

Just apply the well-known, universally agreed upon MCU formula. Marvel's First Family could potentially lend significant credibility to the existing MCU.

The actors i leave for better people to choose but i would do a first family in the 60's and a comeback:
Start the movie with an action piece in new york in the 60's (throw some janet van dyne cameos for good measure). They have their powers already. They defeat the present menace and everybody cheers. They are well known and beloved by the public. The marriage happened a few days ago and it's still in magazines and whatnot. A few scenes just being them.
Then it all goes to hell, they are sucked to the negative zone stay there for some time and when they come back nobody remembers them and it's current time in the MCU. Time jump and erasure from collective minds.
Richards then learns that it was all a plot from Kang to erase them from existence. Shenanigans, some avengers helping them etc.
the story ends when they learn of some upper threat like Galactus Annihilus and decide to stay in this era to help out. All the non-superhero characters are from current time, alicia masters etc. Richards devices a contraption that brings them up to speed with history etc, this is not a Captain america stile fish out of water. They know what happened and thanks to richards well adapted to the modern world and everybody remembers them again.
No Doom until the end. A flashback of a device where he is in statsis that reads FF detected. He Then emerges and states "At last they return".
this way they can have them introduced AND still be Marvel's first family. the 60´s appart from Shield and Ant-Man have no Retcon stuff attached And is a time jump, parallel dimension, cosmic adventure that FF deserves.

CAST Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic - Andrew Garfield Susan Storm/Invisible Woman - Emma Roberts Johnny Storm/Human Torch - Glenn Powell Ben Grimm/The Thing - Jack O'Connell Victor Von Doom/Doctor Doom - Adam Driver Annihilus - Bill Nighy (voice) I don't personally care to see the F4 in the MCU outside of the thought of bringing Dr Doom into the MCU. I will say however Andrew Garfield is a great call for Reed. It might be a bit of the Ioan Gruffudd talking but I thought he made a GREAT Reed in the original F4 movies and Garfield seems like a younger version of him. In all honesty the casting for the original F4 films were pretty good outside of Alba and McMahon. I honestly have zero clue who Powell or O'Conell are so those I can't judge. Emma Roberts I wouldn't be able to buy as Sue though as to me she just has this resting bitch face that I wouldn't be able to buy into her as anything other than a villain. Then with Adam Driver. My only knowledge of him is his role in Star Wars and I don't care for him at all. He just reeks of emo/hot topi/goth that I can't associate with Dr Doom.

Ah yes, this ever present "formula" no one can ever define. It's been defined. They make CMBs that are full of hipster dialogue, are ashamed and grounded and focused on villains, and that are not wondrous.

Just let a tour group that enters the Baxter Building see a short, animated version of their origin in the lobby while they're touring it, since the FF are celebrities. If they were to do an origin story I think they should keep it to the original reason. Make them SHIELD agents (Ben and Johnny)/ scientists (Reed and Sue). Reed learns of something heading towards Earth. SHIELD doesn't see it as a threat (friggin Talbot) so they steal a space worthy Quinjet and head off into space. They get hit by the wave and vanish. They find themselves in the Negative Zone with their powers when they wake up. They find out that whatever Reed did before getting hit by the cosmic wave kept them alive and gave them their powers. The rest of the movie would be like Johnny Quest in space with them trying to get home and running from and fighting Annihilus. End it with them already home recounting their adventure to someone in charge at SHIELD. Secretary Ross or whomever.

Fitz (Reed), Simmons (Sue), Mac (Ben) and Daisy (Johnny) are pretty much them. Where would these genius scientist be if they were in the MCU? And how would they get what they need to get where they need to go at this point in the MCU? SHIELD. I think the original was something like NASA. That really wouldn't work. Then you make Ben a field agent and Johnny a pilot. You can still call them the "First Family" because they are a family of superheroes. All others are just teams.

I feel like their origin is just too important. Especially for The Thing. We need to know these characters before they are transformed otherwise it will risk feeling hallow.
