a snappy 2-2 game so far... What was a snappy 2-2 game has quickly turned into an 11-2 A's rout, thanks to the Giants incredibly shaky bullpen. They got a guy named Willy Peralta pitching for them. I'm really starting to think that Gabe Kapler lost a bet to the guy, and part of his payment is too let Peralta pitch in as many games as possible, regardless of how high his ERA (currently at 9.54) gets.

It used to be that middle relief was the Padres' strong spot. It's an unmitigated disaster this year.

The Giants might suck now, but at least they've gotten it done in the playoffs. Been a long time since we could say that about the A's.

Boy, these ESPN baseball broadcasts are dreadful. Only ESPN can make a tedious game even more sluggish and dull.

Anyone know how to post a tweet on here? On Twitter I go to embed tweet, here I click insert embed and I paste the link, and it just shows up blank.

Don Mattingly tossed after a profanity laced rant at the umps about the strike zone, and having watched this umpiring crew for a couple of Marlins series this year, he has every right to be pissed, the strike zone has been remarkably inconsistent and the umpiring hasn’t been good. One positive about not having fans in the stands is that you can hear so much of the audio:
