We're going for a sweep of the Sox - this after sweeping the Mutts
Then it's on to face to the boring vanilla Blue Jays - do they have a home yet or are they traveling around like homeless bums?

Mets go for 3 in a row against the Fish. Their offense has sprung to life of late, with Brandon Nimmo, Dom Smith and Robbie Cano leading the charge. Plus, Pete Alonso is heating up and has been really strong lately. Jacob deGrom vs. Pablo Lopez.

i wonder how much money Arrieta gets next year and how many years maybe he signs a 1 year contract somewhere for like 10 - 12 mil? hamels got a one year for $18 mil (which i thought was high) ; keuchel got like a 3 year for like 55 mil from the white sox (which I thought was too many years) - thinking jake may be on the lower end of both hamels and keuchel - or am i off on my thinking here?
guy has been a major disappointment and wasn't worth the money at all
plus his attitude sucks - me first prick always complaining and throws his teammates under the bus towards the media
won't be crying once he's gone

Has anyone seen/heard about this fiasco with Reds broadcaster Thom Brenneman? He was caught by a mic using the word “fag” when he thought was off air but it was on live TV the whole time, it was during game 1 of the Reds/Royals doubleheader. He’s apparently been taken off the air during game 2 after making an on air apology, and it looks like he will be fired. Bizarre.
Really stupid of him to say that when there are mics nearby, and it makes me wonder what other stuff he’s said in the broadcast booth, it’s just not acceptable to use homophobic slurs at the workplace (or anywhere for that matter) and it’s a bad look for the Reds. I’ve never liked Brenneman and I think he only got where he is because of who his daddy is, and he deserves to get the axe for this.
What was funny was right in the middle of Brenneman’s apology, a Reds player hit a homer, and Brenneman had to call a Reds homer and then go right back into his career altering apology. It was funny to watch, it was the most somber home run call of all time.

Fortunately for him, he’ll now have plenty of time to practice the fine art of thinking before speaking.

Reds calling up some new talent after tonight. Gotta always love the 'It's not who I really am as a person' when it's the real person who thinks there's no public mic. Guy wasn't in the shower angry at the world, guy was at work around colleagues who could hear & see him.

Yeah it’s unbelievable to me that he thought it was okay to use that kind of language at his workplace, especially with mics all around, it’s a terrible look for the Reds and makes me wonder just how in the hell he thought he could say that. The Reds player homering during the apology was really funny to me, it was like something from a comedy skit “and it’s a home run, and I’m so very sorry for what I said and to everyone I offended”. The most awkward and somber home run call of all time.

And now we wait for the inevitable "Thom Brenneman uses a gay slur and apologizes, a breakdown."

It was funny to watch, it was the most somber home run call of all time. It would’ve been great if he’d gotten all excited about the home run and then immediately went back to his apology. He’s also an NFL commentator for FOX. Don’t think we’ll be hearing his voice again anytime soon.

I was looking forward to him describing Jacksonville as the "Jag capital of the world."
