I don't think I've ever used it. I'll say "drafted" and "I have" or "I've got"
"A lot of stock in Luka"
Kind of like trading cards.

I don't play fantasy sports, but in my limited exposure to it, I've only ever heard people say, "That guy's on my fantasy team." I've never heard anyone say, "I own (player x)."

I will also be changing the terminology in our Pick 'Em league; it will now be referred to as "Pick the Team You Think Will Win League". I am trying to eliminate language that suggests "picking" or "choosing" a group of humans with connotations of ownership or desired ownership.

You should do like the Oscars did some time ago and change the wording to "Pick the team you think the League Title Will Go To". "Win" implies that the others are losers, and that kind of language is no longer acceptable!

A very good point. I'm gonna have to do a major rebrand.

What I don't love about yahoo fantasy is having to bid on player movement. If I see a blue chipper getting called up within 3 weeks & I grab him a 4th week earlier... why should I pay for someone unless there's a competing bid. I often find myself bidding against nobody.

Other than putting money into a pot for the league winner and runner-up, I've never done any of the auction/purcha$e games$. It was nice winning $100 last year. Also glad we aren't putting money on this year. It's wacky, and I do better over the later stages of a long season.

I don't play for money, yet yahoo began in 2019 I guess having all player adds costing pretend 'money' from a $100 salary cap pot to begin a season. I guess it does keep some users in check from transacting everyone potentially on a weekly if not daily basis. I just seems broken that users 'pay' for players no one else is targeting.
