Most unexpected.
The movie in question is not specified right now but speculation is that it's Spider-Woman.

Interesting to see how this pans out...Jessica Drew and "Spider-Woman" ownership seems quite complicated

They're making a Madame Web movie? Isn't she like an elderly lady who is an invalid and blind or something? Not sure how exciting that will be. Helen Mirren as the title character maybe?

What "body positive" actress will they hire to not look like the character, perhaps Rebel Wilson? Declaring her stunning and brave would surely convince fans she's the right actress for the role.

Holy Shit Rebel Wilsons characters are always so damn annoying. I don't get how she has a career. At least she's not a despicable and proudly evil sociopath like Lena Dunham. They are both body positive but Wilson seems like if she toned down her act in real life she might be bearable. I'm stunned even brain dead sycophants can stand being around Dunham for longer than it took for her to pay them. Who is the guy that always suggested Kat Denning was perfect for every super heroine role? Does he still post?

Olivia Wilde is a director now? Can't say I've ever seen any of her work. As an actor, I find her decent. As a director? I'm worried.

She did Booksmart last year, was a good low budget hit, made $25m on a $6m budget and won a load of awards, no Oscars though but won the Independent Spirit Award for best picture, won and was nominated for a bunch of festive and critics awards, she's supposedly a hot commodity right now due to that, but then that's her only directing job, she's signed up for numerous other films as a director already though, so we will be able to see if she's actually got a magic touch or if she's a one hit wonder, hopefully she's the real deal and not someone who got lucky with having great support in their first movie.

She directed one indie film, it got good reviews but did bad at the box office It did well, made over 4 times it's budget, it was an independent movie, $25m for a indie flick is actually good, doing good or bad depends on it's budget to box office ratio, not simply how much a movie grosses.

That's normal though these days, with CBM's the IP sells the movie not the directors, and inexperienced talent comes in cheap, also it's the playbook every company is copying since it worked with Wonder Woman, look at every female led CBM announced after WW's success they have all been atleast partially female director led who has limited success, and mostly critical not financial success at that.

Even though a indie distributor they treated as a bigger film, that is why it is seen as a failure, once you add 15m marketing it made no money
The Box Office Failure Of Olivia Wilde's 'Booksmart' Is A Sadly Predictable Tragedy
