Henry Cavill’s trending again. It looks like there’s certainly a demand for him to continue playing Superman. So he is. Even the people that don't like the movies he appeared in want him to continue playing the part.
That's nice to hear, but unless WB make the announcement "Henry Cavill will return in blah blah blah as Superman" I don't see anything coming from this.

I mean, they gave Harley Quinn a follow up movie even before MOS2. Heck, Suicide Squad got a sequel before MOS2. One has to wonder what exactly DC/WB has against Superman.

BvS is MoS2, but regardless, James Gunn was supposedly offered the opportunity to direct either a Superman movie or a Suicide Squad movie. He chose the latter.

It is no more MOS2 than Avengers is IM3. As for Gunn choosing SS over Superman, I'm not surprised. That, however, doesn't explain why WB can't simply get another director to do MOS2.

BvS directly deals with the aftermath of MoS and was explicitly referred to as a sequel back when it was announced. It was meant to serve as the second part in a five part story, with MoS being the first part. Anyway, WB seems to have no clear idea on what to do with Superman at this point.

James Gunn was offered Superman? That would've been odd. His style wouldn't mesh at all with the character.

The way I understand it Warner Brothers really wanted Gunn to make a DC film. He was given a choice of projects, probably anything that was in development, before settling on Suicide Squad.

Hard to imagine what other properties he would've gelled with. His style is far too low brow for DC's A listers. Although, he probably would've done a better job with Aquaman than Wan did.

That is a bunch of crap that they did this! It angers me beyond belief that they would ignore one of their primary Super heroes and go with secondary characters like Harley Quinn or any of those in Suicide Squad. And I'm talking from the general public's point of view here. It's just wrong!

I’d like some Superman films but look at it this way. If he cameos, his stocks could go up. Less can be more. He could be the Boba Fett of DC. You don’t give your best characters the lead. Until you do. Let him become a cult figure instead of a tired figure.

After all, Wonder Woman, Batman, Aquaman and even Flash are all getting new movies. One wonders why they're treating Superman like crap.

Well David Goyer still has hope for Henry Cavill even as he admits he's not privy to any of those discussions.

Apparently he was almost in Suicide Squad 2, according to James Gunn when it was in the early development phase. He's still interested in the idea.

The evil Superman idea sounds good and I can visualize the idea, but it also needs to have a horror vibe to it like a zombie Superman like the Walking Dead meets Suicide Squad. I don't want another Christopher Reeve "upset stomach looking" evil Superman if they go down that route again.

Add that to the list of things that make me think the movie might have the entire Justice League (minus Cyborg) in it.
