Man of Steel is going to be hard for them to outdo that was pretty much it.

I guess because his previous outings were so divisive with critics and split the fandom. That’s true but WB acts like they’re unable to hire different directors and writers for a new movie. That used to be the reasoning I went with as well... up until the time they made SS2 and greenlit WW3. Because while I don't consider MOS to be a masterpiece, it was still way better than SS and WW2. *shrugs* As we’ve come to learn, the people at WB are not that bright.

The Wrap interviewed an anonymous DC studio insider to discuss future DCEU plans. Though unable to detail any actual plans, the anonymous source shared their thoughts on what the studio should do to recapture audience interest, namely bringing back Henry Cavill's Superman for a DCEU revival. See what the source said below: "If anything they'll go back to individual movies unless De Luca has some plan. They need to get a f---ing Superman movie off the ground, and if the plan is a shared universe, a Cavill-led Superman needs to be the focal point. [They] should scratch every Superman project in development and start fresh with Cavill." screenrant.com/superman-henry-cavill-dceu-movies-future-updates/

If WB and Cavill can’t reach a deal, they should just stop teasing us with these headless cameos and wipe the slate clean already. It’s getting ridiculous.

between this and the tweet he sent out about giving the audience what they want in reply to Superman showing up, he would be digging himself a massive hole if it wasn’t Cavill. The Rock is a smart dude and he has power; if he wanted Cavill he could get Cavill. So this convinces me he’s in it

But didn't they turn down his ideas a few years ago?

During a conversation between Fandango's Erik Davis and The Wrap's Umberto Gonzalez on Twitter Spaces, the insiders offered a promising update on Henry Cavill's future as Superman in the DCEU. Gonzalez first noted that "the Multiverse has to stay" if DC wishes to push forward with both Sasha Calle's Supergirl and Henry Cavill's Superman in the DCEU: "The Multiverse has to stay, if they want to keep [Supergirl actress] Sasha Calle and bring back a new Superman or bring back Cavill or something, that's going to have to be the reality of it."Davis then questioned Gonzalez on what he knew about Cavill's Superman future, saying he heard a story that "they've asked him, and he doesn't want to do it:" Erik Davis: "What have you heard about Henry lately, I've heard a story that they've asked him, and he doesn't want to do it, he doesn't want to come back."Gonzalez revealed the news Warner Bros. Discovery regime "like [Cavill] as Superman" and may try to bring him back, but that will depend on "whoever the new DC guy is overseeing the universe:" "I'm pretty sure that if he heard the right take... I do know that the current regime, they like him as Superman and I think they're going to try... This is probably going to turn into a story, I'm not sure, but I'm pretty sure they'll maybe try to [get him back]... I could be wrong, I just don't think they've had a take yet for him to come back. But again, that's all subject to whoever the new DC guy is overseeing the universe and this committee and the one answering to David Zaslav. It's been almost ten years since we've seen him in Man of Steel. But what I can say, I personally, I don't think it's over just yet."

".... Talking to Fandango's Erik Davis, The Wrap's Umberto Gonzalez was asked what the chances are we'll see Cavill as Superman again, and he repeatedly said to divulge what he's been told would be a spoiler."

A soft reboot of the JL is going to fail miserably. Now I'm kinda worried.

Yeah. That was mentioned in the WBD thread. It’s not really relevant to whether or not Henry Cavill is coming back, but it’s an interesting tidbit nonetheless. I was happy when the Snyder Cut was released, because I felt like it was the closest thing we would get to closure on Snyder’s chapter with DC, but in hindsight, maybe letting him film those additional scenes with Martian Manhunter and the Knightmare stuff wasn’t the best idea. It was setup for something that was never going to have any payoff.

If accurate, I think they call it a pay raise.
