Last year I read The Tin Drum by Gunter Grass. Does that count?

Quite an undertaking, Carl. I read it in one month at a rate of 50 pages a day about twenty years ago. Still my favorite novel. Wish I could read it in Russian.

Off the top of my head, 'Crime and Punishment' last year.
*** Edit ***
No, actually it was "Animal Farm" a few months ago.

Elmer Gantry by Sinclair Lewis - a bit too long and repetitive but quite good. It's highly satirical (think Harry Flashman in the pulpit) whereas the film as I recall isn't, though I haven't seen it in several decades.

"All Quiet On The Western Front" - Remarque
It moves very fast, it grabs you and never let's go, it's far better than you might remember it being.

The Three Musketeers. Which was much more enjoyable than I was led to believe. Also read Wuthering Heights and Sense and Sensibility during lockdown proper because I couldn't get books except via Kindle, and I'm a skinflint.

Me too. I've been reading (savoring) it slowly, for more than a year. I'm reading the Constance Garnett translation now; I want to try one or two of the newer ones if I live long enough, lol.
