Yes, I knew that. It was sarcasm aimed at Streep. Arquette made a fool of herself as well.

How much meat does a person need on spaghetti?! Get the hell outta here with that meat sauce! I think that technically the meat sauce doesn't really contain meat. But i could be wrong.
So technically it doesn't make the quantity of meat that you are eating increase.
Actually, it sounds like it would be good.
Oh it does. It has lots of ground beef in it. I find it nauseating.

Yes, I knew that. It was sarcasm aimed at Streep. Arquette made a fool of herself as well. The women folk loved her I was very wrapped for Arquette, hadn't seen the film she won for, after seeing her come such a long way from Nightmare On Elm St. 3: Dream Warriors (which is my favorite of the sequels), to winning the industries top honor. She then had to use her win as distorted idealistic political platform to speak out for gay people and how women had supported them and how oppressed she was as a woman in an industry that had kept her down because of evil men, after just being awarded an Oscar in large part due to the male vote. She lost me after that and I haven't cared for her since.
Streep obviously didn't care about women, as she kept her trap shut about what her God Weinstein was doing to them. Perhaps so she could keep getting roles to stay relevant.

That's a good episode. The putty nose routine always sent my mom into hysterics.

I this some kind of a Joke or Parody thread? Wow... I Honestly can't believe that someone is actually complaining about people eating Spaghetti & Meat Sauce With Meat Balls... In this time of Covid-19, Cops trying to kill people, riots and destruction, Schools being fucked up, Sports and other activities not going on, so many people are unemployed and facing evictions, ETC... It must be so nice for some excessive nitpicking party pooper to have so much time on their hands to worry about something so fucking trivial... If Meat Sauce With Meat Balls is you biggest worry in life right now, you've got it made, and shouldn't be complaining about one damn thing. Get a life, and grow up, snowflake. Posting something "so trivial" can be a nice break from the outside world. Why did you get so angry?

That's a good episode. The putty nose routine always sent my mom into hysterics. I haven't seen many Lucy episodes and perhaps more when I was kid on t.v. but so long ago to recall the best ones. This one I saw on you tube several years ago with William Holden. One golden age actor that has always been prevalent with me. I think he is a wonderful actor and my was he a hunk in Sunset Blvd. Have you seen Born Yesterday with him and Judy Holliday? What a delight! Holliday won an Oscar over Davis and Swanson, but my was she still deserving.

She was also very funny and I don't have a problem with her Oscar win. I thought William Holden looked good in SB. I think you like him more than I do.

I did have an issue with her win until I got to see the film, especially since she has been derided the win over Davis and Swanson. Holliday was wonderful and nice that a comedy performance was honored and a deserved one too. I have yet to see Eleanor Parker in Caged and I have never had any issue with Anne Baxter in Eve, even though the DeWitt critic claws tend to come out regarding her role in the film. She had me sucked in the first time I saw it and didn't know the story. 1950 has been regarded as one of the strongest years for the ladies competing for Oscar.
Holden aged quickly, but he was always terrific for my money and while you are more knowledgeable with the golden era of Hollywood films and stars, Holden's films always tended to just drop into my lap. I guess I was meant to know about his work for whatever reason. He was a hunky hunk of a man's man in SB.

How much meat does a person need on spaghetti?! Get the hell outta here with that meat sauce! Wait, what?! A) Whats wrong with meat? IMO the more meat the better! and B) You don't have to have Meat Sauce. You can have Marinara if you still want a tomato based sauce, or have something else. A nice Quattro Formaggio for instance. If you're preparing the spaghetti yourself you can make it however you want, and if you're ordering you can order whatever you want. I'm not seeing the problem. You're hatred of the Meat Sauce is irrational... and I find myself strongly NEEDING to come to its defense. XOXO

I think it's pretty much the prototype for the overripe "women in prison" genre. Matron Hope Emerson is terrifying, monstrous. Also Agnes Moorehead shows up as the basically benevolent, but helpless to affect any change, warden. I thought that bit of casting was pretty spot on. I'm not sure who the 5th best actress nominee was for 1950. I'm thinking maybe it was Jane Wyman.
