That says the universe has a tyrant deity who:
Makes you choose between going to two places after you stop living
place 1. A fiery inferno where you are horribly tortured every day for the rest of your life + forever place 2. a less fiery place where you live forever with no fire, BUT, while all your friends and family that you love may end up going to fiery place 1
or Imagine another universe where the tyrant deity:
Says out loud that you need to be good but then under the table passes you a note that says "PSSSSSTTTT. THE WHOLE THING IS A SCAM. HAHAHAH~!!! YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE GOOD!!!!!!! GO KILL AND RAPE AND STEAL ALL YOU WANT!!!!! JUST SAY YOU BELIEVE IN ME AFTER YOU'RE DONE AND YOU GET AWAY WITH IT ALL!!!!!!!! LOL"
-
God, these are two separate horrific morally degenerate universes. I wouldn't want to live in either one of them. In fact this sounds like something out of an H.P. Lovecraft novel that makes you half-crap just reading it.

Christianity in a nutshell.
I'm disappointed by your lack of originality though.
The issue with your point and with the Bible is that these things are very ill defined. Who is to say that the soul has memories at all?
The way I understand it the soul that goes to Heaven becomes something else and no longer has cares for what was before.

Actually if true it would explain nicely why the world is so fucked up today. I don't know if that means it's more likely to be true though. I hope not.

That's one of the main problems with "fundamentalism", because every fundamentalist evangelist I've seen has:
The chief failure the evangelist has is his insistence on helping the Charles Manson types of this world at the expense of alienating everyone else. The evangelist gets so wrapped up in the very point you make that he actually discriminates against people who try to obey the law. The evangelist today even puts you down if you obey the law. The evangelist today claims you go to Hell if you obey the law, because you obeyed the law instead of broke it so you could repent.
The original Hebrew and Greek words that "repent" came from actually have a false connotation. The words actually resemble the word "relent" more than what we think of as "repent". "Repent" today means "crocodile tears", which is something the ancient prophets and Jesus would discredit.

Whatever turns out to be true, aside from any human-perceived right or wrong of it, we're stuck with it. Isn't that nice? Doesn't that take the pressure off for you? It does for me.

I notice people do that a lot. They complain about the way things are without even beginning to suggest what to do about it.
