I haven't seen this movie in 20 years at least. It is very funny. Like laugh out loud funny. Shamelessly funny. And Nancy Parsons has always been one of my favorites.
Also, it is a surprisingly good-natured movie. The guys are all likable. Even the sentiment in the movie works.

It's great. You'll really love 'Porky's II : The Next Day'.

It’s pretty ahead of its time with its raunchy and crude humour, although Animal House did come first and did it better.

Stupid movie, but funny. I like it way better than all the latter day movies it inspired like American Pie and Road Trip.

It’s pretty ahead of its time with its raunchy and crude humour, although Animal House did come first and did it better. I like both, but prefer Porky's. I think Porky's was made with more charm and less cockiness attributed to it. Porky's was deemed quite rauncy for its time, but now it is just really quaintly risque and the chemistry of the actors and their characters I think are more relatable than what is represented in Animal House.
What do you make of the Porky's sequels?

It's great. You'll really love 'Porky's II : The Next Day'. Porky's II is amusing and has some fun scenes, but it lacks some of the magic that made the first one work so well and it came across a bit more heavy handed.
I think I prefer Porky's Revenge - 85' to II. While the actors seemed a bit long in the tooth for their characters and the film was in a sense a semi-reboot of the first, it played out with more of the same tone and atmosphere from the first film. I liked the paddle steamer set too. Don't the KKK swing some serious avocadoes? It's been a while since I've seen it but I remember my mother and sister absolutely loved the second entry when they had the 'Porky's' VHS video box-set.

Yes, the ending doesn't shame on the old dude nudity and Pee Wee shows off his pee wee. What went before the ending though, came across a so much more tamer than the first. I did find the restaurant scene quite amusing though. I find it a bit of a slog. I prefer 'Porky's Revenge' too, especially as Pee Wee's hair is receding. But I view the first film as an absolute classic of it's comic subgenre.
This is why I rank the 'Screwballs' comedy franchise above it. Three great movies in 'Screwballs', 'Loose Screws' and 'Screwball Academy' and the cinematographer made a fun spin-off in 'Oddballs'. On the other hand, I'd probably rank the 'Porky's' franchise above the 'Meatballs' franchise as that one's also a decidedly mixed bag.

I found it amusing, but I thought it could have pushed the raunchy envelope a tad more. I saw it at the cinema as a double bill with The Beach Girls, which was on first and what I enjoyed more, even if stupid. I'm a huge 'Beach Girls' fan. It stars Debra Blee whose work I've just highlighted in a 'T.J. Hooker' thread here on Film General. Can't believe in 11 years they've still not greenlit the production of this movie, especially as the studio executives (blowhards) said they wanted William Shatner's blessing and possibly even a cameo (a la Erik Estrada); so, do those Hollywood bozos even know Shatner turned 89 this year? Oh my giddy aunt.

Oh my giddy aunt. Nice to know there is another Beach Girls fan, or what could be more appropriately titled Boobs: The Motion Picture. It was shamelessly stupid, (especially the sub-plot with the weed and the campy crew on the security patrol), but I guess I liked the warmth of this with the C&C thematic undertones, a pleasant beach house setting and a party where everyone gets to flaunt uninhibitedly. Not to mention the major plot point, with the attempts to get Debra Blee to express herself wholesomely by exposing her boobies. Such wonderful, blissful un-pc heaven....... I like a lot of movies produced by Crown International Pictures. I credit Quentin Tarantino for going out on the road and highlighting just how good some of their movies were, to the point we now see blu-rays being produced with full-on extras whch was unimaginable at the height of the mocking "it's so bad its good" era. Tarantino did a great service for low budget movie fans everywhere and the new generation looks at movies differently. 'Beach Girls' was directed by Bud Townsend and I'm delighted to have 4 of his movies on dvd as he made interesting movies.

Canada's reigning box office champ. I love how it tried to fudge the numbers because Canada abandoned audience-focused filmmaking around 1985 for films about people dying of misery or incest so Porky's got stuck in first place--despite the fact that the director is American and it was made in Florida--the production is still technically Canadian.
They tried claiming Good Cop, Bon Cop was the new winner but that was only in Quebec. Then they tried saying a Resident Evil sequel was but nope-since that film was an international co-production. Porky's was all Canadian-because back then the government was willing to give money to anything--even a porno horror film Sexula got put into the Canadian archives because of this no questions asked policy.

I know Tarantino has listed The Pom Pom Girls as one of his favorite Grindhouse films from CIP. I own that on vhs and also have Beach Girls, My Tutor and My Chauffeur. I did have The Van but traded it in. Haven't seen any of the others from this distribution company. Right, all those movies are Crown productions. High on my target list is to buy the special edition blu-ray of 'My Chauffeur' which I have on dvd. That's one of my all-time favourite movies and critical opinion of it has visibly changed in the last few years, with younger reviewers now praising it online (it used to be dismissed as a "laughable crapburger", or a "worthless smellburger", and nothing more).

I can never get tired of watching Porky's. It's just so damn likable and funny. A truly laugh-out-loud comedy. That entire sequence when the guys first go to the bar and try to score with "Porky's Piglets" is still my favorite part. "How was the pussy, boys?" LOL! Prime etc. yeah I remember when Good Cop, Bon Cop was being touted as Canada's new all-time box office winner, but I didn't believe that for one second. What a crock of shit.

I like "The Pom Pom Girls", too. It's been a while since I've seen it. I believe Tanya Roberts is in it. I pretty much adore the 70s drive-in flick. They hold great charm for me.

It's great. You'll really love 'Porky's II : The Next Day'. I haven't seen either of the sequels. One of them, I remember reading, focuses more of the Beaulah Balbricker character. Does that sound right?

"Hell, that's New Jersey bad boy Danny DeVito, and what's he become? A dedicate of independent film. And who was his best buddy? New Jersey's Jack Nicholson, a product of low budget cinema. etc."

I right away thought of Kim Cattrall, she so funny in SATC I have actually never watched SATC, which kind of seems weird to me. Most of my friends watched it and enjoyed it. But Kim gives it her comic all in "Porky's". The confrontation between Miss Honeywell and Beaulah Balbricker in the stairwell is hilarious. "Miss Honeywell! Do you mind?" lol! A few years earlier, Kim was in one of my favorite "Columbo" episodes, "How to Dial a Murder". She was very sweet and likable in it.

Does that sound right? Um, don't think so. But check out part 2 for a mass of swinging avocadoes which was far more groundbreaking at the time, though to be fair, Canadians were never afraid of balls and these were Louisianan Bob Clark's American-Canadian pictures.
In Europe, everybody got naked, but in America there was resistance to this for many years. Now the tables have turned. Women barely show a side-boob in American cinema and this costs the studios millions to obtain the shot, whereas every young male American actor wants to have his nude shot to show he's "woke".
