Hello all, so I just got back to my place after being displaced for about 11 days because of the wildfire here in the Santa Cruz mountains.
Our place is safe and intact, and we feel totally lucky and blessed. Not everyone was so lucky, over 800 family homes were destroyed by the fire, mainly in the communities of Bonny Doon and Boulder Creek. It still definitely smells smoky up here, but the sky is clear and beautiful.
Just a shout out to firefighters, all around not just California but everywhere as well. These guys and gals are maybe the biggest heroes in our world. As bad as this situation was, it could have been sooooooo much worse if it wasn't for the diligent and incredibly hard work that they do. Always give a thumbs up to a firefighter when you see one, I know I will from now on.
And once again, I want to thank you all for the kind words in my other thread when things were hairy and scary. Your support really meant a lot to me, and I just want to let you nutjobs know that I appreciate it a whole lot.
🤟👍🤙♥️

My sister in law lives in Santa Cruz. Got a few pictures from out there, it was very scary.
Like I say, our honeymoon was supposed to be in Big Basin, was canceled because of those fires.
We still have the smoky air here in the bay area.

Thanks again you guys for the kind responses. A special shout out to nuts for the Sam Elliott pic, you know how to tickle my funny bone.
I gotta admit, I'm a little emotional today. I think I got a little dust in my eyes, if you catch my drift. 😥

Tell ya what, I'll do some experimenting on that and get back to ya. 😉🤙
