To you, people who do wrong in the name of science are no-true-scientists You are just taking my comment to you about religion and flipping it around, it's the typical conservative retort of, "I know you are but what am I." Do you even have examples of people 'doing wrong in the name of science?'

Do you even have examples of people 'doing wrong in the name of science?' Would you believe it if I did? There are ads on TV all day about lawsuits won against "science." Then too covid-19 isn't exactly inspiring confidence in science. The reason the United States has the highest health care costs is that the demand is so high. The United States has far more "newbies" established in society than other countries. That's why they want to come here. They do not have strong traditions to follow. They are often employed in the military in jobs that have no civilian counterpart. Many are "Christian' because that accepts them as they are without tradition. Others are diametrically opposed to Christianity because they believe "science" should rule over everything. Both groups follow what they imagine is "authority" rather blindly having no knowledge of religion or science. Even the so called "Christians" are just blindly following something that typically includes doctors. So "science" is raking it in.

It relies on scientific research and methods. But doctors do not practice science in of itself. They are mechanics who diagnose and remedy an ill or broken body. If you are wronged by your healthcare providers, theoretically you can sue them. But if that’s impossible, then blame lawyers and politicians. A Christian doctor is under the same guidelines as an atheist doctor. One may pray over your tumor, but he’ll provide you the same treatment that an atheist doctor does, no more, no less. Now, if you want to talk about fraud in the science, I’ll talk because that does happen, but it is not an acceptable thing to do and then try to call it science.

You do realize our healthcare isn't even ranked in the Top 30 by the WHO, right?

Because they are as ignorant of economics as you are they incorrectly blame the few who do not pay high prices for those high prices. In reality there is only one way to bring prices down, do not pay them (unless they come down).

I know you an infantile understanding of economics ("The higher the demand, the higher higher the price") but it is more complicated than that. Medical costs are what you would call an "inelastic demand", even the price goes up, the demand stays about the same, because well people don't wanna die. Why do you think medical bills are the number one cause of bankruptcy in this country? "In reality there is only one way to bring prices down, do not pay them (unless they come down)." Then why does US still pay the highest in the world for medical care despite millions of people that are uninsured in this country? Buying medical insurance/care is not the same as buying a soda, the "price/demand" model doesn't work here. If it were true, the US wouldn't be paying the most in the world for subpar healthcare. Are you this stupid or just a liar?

However, this a political, economic, social, cultural, and legal problem. It’s not a science problem. Are there scientists willing to whore themselves out for money? Of course. But that is an ethical issue, not scientific one. But there no cabals of atheist scientists who are conspiring with Greenpeace to hoax America into adopting clean energy in order to put Big Petroleum out of business. There are no covens of science-witches (aka biology teachers) turning innocent children into godless social justice warriors against the Church by teaching them evolution.

How do you NOT PAY for your hospital bill after a car accident or a heart lung transplant that you require and will die without? Stopping bleeding and setting broken bones are not the main contributors to high health care costs. If I would not take the risk of a heart lung transplant it would be very easy not to pay. That sort of work is the reason costs are so high.
