03. THE QUOTE:
"Making a film is like a Stagecoach ride in the old West -- when you start you hope for a pleasant trip ... by the halfway point you just hope to survive."
--- 'Ferrand, Le Realisateur' (Francois Truffaut) in DAY FOR NIGHT
********************************************************************************************************
04. THE SET-UP:
-- Alphabetically and Numerically listed below in BLUE are the names of 100 Feature Film DIRECTORS.
-- Two of the FILMMAKERS can be linked in a unique way.
-- Both of them directed FILMS that received OSCAR WINS or NOMINATIONS for the same ACTOR (male).
-- Those Films were the only two PERFORMANCE NOMINATIONS in each ACTOR'S entire career.
-- Two different FILMMAKERS in two different FILMS guiding the ACTOR to his only two career OSCARED PERFORMANCES (W or N).
-- No two Nominations were made with the same Director (Negative Example: Quentin Tarantino and Christoph Waltz).
-- No ACTOR directing himself to a Nomination permitted (Negative Example: Warren Beatty, Laurence Olivier, etc.)
05. THE CHALLENGE:
-- MATCH the two FILMMAKERS, IDENTIFY the shared career TWICE-NOMINATED ACTOR, and give both FILM NAMES.
-- A posting example is offered below.
-- Just one answer per post, and only three consecutive responses allowed before another player participates.
-- Duplicate correct posts will be determined by the earlier time stamp.
-- Linking FILMMAKERS will convert to RED when solved, along with the SHARED TWICE-NOMINATED ACTOR and the clever player who spotted it.
-- Scores will appear below in PURPLE.
-- A 2-Point BONUS ROUND will appear at the conclusion of the Regular Contest ... 3-plus Sign-ins required before beginning.

____________________________________________________________________________________________
10. THE QUIZMASTER'S MANIFESTO:
-- Except for warm welcomes to incoming players and helpful hints for incorrect answers, the QM may not always respond to every post.
-- Not being unfriendly, just utilizing the time more wisely by keeping the Scoreboard U-T-D (Up-To-Date).
-- Besides, it's just too boring to keep responding 'Yes' to every answer, and too many posts might scare away potential participants.
-- The Scoreboard will tell the tale, but be patient about those Updates ...the QM thinks and types slowly.
-- You want 'em fast or accurate? I don't do both.
-- Comments on Correct Answers (always a player's first, and sometimes after several attempts) will be noted ALL IN CAPS!!!
-- When traffic is heavy, Scores will be entered in groups of five, and Incorrects (NTAs and Halfers) will be bundled.
-- Only one Answer can be correct ... MINE! (It's good to be the Quizmaster).
-- Be sure to number correctly to save wear and tear on the QM and his beleaguered GG staff.
-- IMPORTANT: Do not return to correct a previous post ... this vehicle cannot make U-turns.
