We had to put her in the home on Monday after a week stay in the hospital. Hopefully she can regain her strength go back home. We talked to her through the window on our cell phones. For an hour and a half. She seemed to enjoy that.

But there you don't have that problem. My mom had 2 nursing home stays. One for a month. The other was 3 months. She got well both times and returned to her home. I pray your mom gets home quickly! All my best Martin!! Ps are you able to have contact ever? Can you bring her 'treats'? My mom loved anything!! She hated the food

She hated the food After 14 days they will bring her out to the patio and we can visit there outside. As for treats I think they do accept them. As for covid-19 Iowa seems to be spiking right now. Even here in the county I live in.

I thought Iowa was pretty low in the covid counts. Definitely bring treats that the staff can disinfect - just in case, maybe things that are packaged or wrapped. Gives them one less reason to turn the treats away.

Lol good memories for me!

Yes, 2 weeks in the standard quarantine time. After that they move new residents into the general population.
In Iowa, LTCFs are starting to open up a bit at least on the inside, with group activities and dining rooms now opening up. And apparently, they are also allowing limited face-to-face visits in some facilities.

I'm praying for you She did 55 minutes of physical therapy and 35 minutes of occupational therapy yesterday. So it sounds like she's doing well. my cell phone and her cell phone don't seem to to work together so my sister has to call her. She's going to set up another window visit either tomorrow or Sunday.

Here's a web page I found Hefty Brothers programs. These might be the programs that you are missing. They seem to be devoid of any Derecho information. I'm wondering if they're not pre-taped.

Tomorrow we can visit her on the patio. She seems to be doing okay. They're still having a problem with her low blood sugar though. hopefully they can figure that out by giving her a before bed snack. The doctor also sent orders to cut back on insulin at night. That seems to be the problem time. she wakes up with a blood sugar in the 40s.

Poor mom! All my best wishes For the most part she manages her diabetes at home quite well. The reasons she's in the nursing home is because she was in the hospital because she filled up with fluid so bad due to congestive heart failure. When they released her from hospital she was too weak to navigate we were afraid that she would fall. so she went to the nursing home for rehabilitation for 20 days. But with them not managing her diabetes all that well that makes her weak then too. So they need to figure that out ASAP.

But she is in good hands so hopefully they'll get it right.
