Not only does it make her happy, and thankful to have you spend time with her, but also you will always be happy that you did.
I'm keeping her in my thoughts.

Had a nice visit with Mom today. We had it out on the patio which was nice. My sister brought Bandit her dog, mom really loves him. The attendant at first didn't want her to pet Bandit but he started to kind of cry and wine so she went and got a bottle of sanitizer for mom's hands and let her pet him. After that he settled down. He is friendly with the attendant too as we have been bringing him with us to the visits from the beginning. so she has a kind heart. Maybe next Monday she will get out if she's strong enough. I really don't want to rush things though but she does. I just don't want to find her on the floor someday in her apartment.

The nursing homes won't discharge her too early. Catman probably could reassure you better than I. CatmanBut they are super careful about releasing patients. They do home visits too. The home has to be suitable like maybe support bars by the toilet. Congrats! Bandit too!

@martin, they will have a home visit before they release her to assess whether she can be at home safely. Note that it is possible for a resident to 'fail' a home visit and be set for reassessment at a later date.

I know mom's itching to get back home but she is 91 and she will be living alone.

Just got a phone call from my sister. The nursing home is doing a walkthrough tomorrow at my mom's apartment. So it sounds like they're going to release her soon which is good. We are having a spike in covid 19 cases here so it's good to get her out of there before something happens.

Mom is being release from the nursing home on Tuesday. She's very happy about that. I'm somewhat apprehensive. But I'm always a worry wort. It's good that she's getting out of there since we're spiking here with covid-19.

They're going to keep mom a couple more days past Tuesday. as she has a bladder infection and her oxygen saturation level dropped and she's retaining fluid again. they want to clear that up before they release her.

I missed this martin. Hope she gets over the bladder infection quickly and goes home. I remember the days of waiting like this. It is like being in limbo. Seems like you can't do anything. I'll say a prayer. All my best wishes

Had a window visit with Mom today. She looked well and ready to go home but no date has been set yet. Apparently two staff members have tested positive covid-19 none of the residents have.

An older gentleman came up to us today while we were visiting Mom outside the window. He said he'd had dogs all his life and wanted to pet Bandit, Bandit obliged. Mom seemed tired today and more hard of hearing. Apparently she's taking her oxygen off at night when sleeping so they got to figure something out about that.I'm thinking she's not going to go home for a while.

The rest of the news is not so good. I'm sorry. My mom removed the oxygen too causing problems. I hope she does come home soon. All my best!

They took mom to the hospital today with the respiratory distress. And she had an oxygen saturation level of 70. Waiting for a call from the hospital to see what they're doing as we can't go out there due to covid-19.
