I've been rewatching the series. One thing that makes me wonder about Loras is why, before Cersei's trial, he didn't demand to join the Night's Watch instead of the Faith Militant? They would have been required to send him there. No having the seven pointed star cut into his forehead! Loras going to Night's Watch would have taken them by surprise. Ultimately it would have been moot as he would die along with everyone else in the Great Sept of Baelor, but at least he wouldn't have had to suffer letting them cut him up. He could have gone out at least thinking he won just a little bit against the High Sparrow.

The Faith Militant made their own rules. Those who got away putting the queen in jail wouldn't have "been required" to do anything.

They felt the need to outlaw Trial By Combat though (too bad Cersei showed her hand there). Being able to "take the black" and go to the Wall is one they wouldn't have anticipated.

Margaery was upset at the seven pointed star. That wasn't part of the bargain she had been led to expect. Whatever her plan was, it must have relied on keeping her brother close and potentially active as a false supporter of the Faith. Her game had always been to fake whatever she had to to achieve her goals.

As was already said...i don't think the forehead carving was part of the arangement. Margaery had already made some kind of deal with the High Sparrow, probably to let Loras join the Faith Miliant in exchange for his freedom. Once he was free i assume Margaery had a plan to either get him out of Kings Landing or get them all out of Kings Landing as it was showing to be more and more dangerous for the Tyrells as each day passed. But we never got to see the plan Margaery was unraveling as Cersei played her own hand and boy was it a doozy.
