I deleted my account after I had transferred my ratings to Letterboxd. So how do you like that site? Is it worth using? I like it very much, as it looks fresh and more up-to-date than IMDb used to look like lately. It is clearly structured and therefore more easy to handle. Whether you find it worth using depends on what you expect. It doesn't provide as much information on films and *Hollywood stuff* as does IMDb. And it doesn't have message boards. The users there seem to communicate via twitter and Facebook. If you don't use social media, like me, you have to look for a message board outside Letterboxd. That's why I'm here.

List-writing is a genetic trait in my family, so I can't delete my IMDb account. My life isn't organized, but my movies are. Of course, I still click on the community button thinking all the posts will magically appear! My goal is to become a master poll maker.

Not yet. I still rate movies and have a watch-list with that account. But other than that I probably won't bother with that site as frequently.

Deleted my account as I only used it for the message boards Haven't used the site at all since the closure since the only reason was the message boards to check up on what happened in a show/film, did I miss something, can someone explain... etc. Never relied on the reviews or the ratings - it was all about the message boards for me.

I did not delete account but I logged out prior to 2/20 and haven't logged back on. As someone already said - no one can see my account/profile anyway... (unless they find the one review I wrote years ago.)

I did not delete my account BUT that being said before message boards were closed I went to IMDB almost everyday. Now I will only go there is if I see an actress I like I will go to IMDB to see what other movies she was in. Other than that IMDB can go screw themselves.

I deleted it. Without the boards I don't see what I'd need it for. I made lists but without someone to show them to or talk about them with what's the point?

Hutch48 corky is a well-known troll. Says who??? Says most of us who witnessed your shenanigans on the old IMDB site where you used to on purpose give fake answers at INTK just to screw with people. You are troll in my book.

Nah. I'm always logged in there so I won't bother, but I've only been back twice since. I moved sir tab down to the bottom though because I don't use it much anymore. Fuck them.

Well, I did not 'Delete' my account at IMDB... HOWEVER, I was a IMDB Pro member for years. (Which they kept upping the gosh darn price too I might add) Now that I did END! IMDB kept bothering me for an updated card to pay for another year. I laughed then went in and killed it. They did have a box where you can state the WHY I am not re-upping with Pro and I let them have it. Making them understand it was because of the killing of the Message Boards.
The funny thing is I actually forgot I had my Pro membership and I thought I killed it last year. So ironically it was poetic justice for me to fire both barrels as to WHY I am not giving them money for Pro. Timing was near perfect.
I also told them that there were MANY IMDB Members that would have helped out as Mods there. I use to moderate on a fair number of 'Boards' in my time and I know it 'Takes Time' to do it correctly and fairly. As of now a days I simply do not have the time (or energy) to be a Mod anymore. Still, as I said many others would have gladly stepped up and helped out. The 'Trick' is to have good Admins to watch over the Moderators and keep them Fair & Balanced. In short not let the Mod Abilities go to their heads.
I do not know anyone here but, so far it seems they have a decent staff. It is a thankless job a lot of the time.
Anyways, we will see what IMDB ends up doing. My guess is they will never allow the message boards again. Sad too because I learned a lot from them.

Reasons you shouldn't delete your IMDb account - people can still view your profile page, your lists, ratings, reviews and bio page (which can still be edited) A few have put links to what boards they are using now, in case you lost touch with some members from there. If you haven't saved any of your friends' profile pages, you can pretty much find anyone from there listed on this site - linkScroll down the page to browse user names alphabetically and hop to the letter page of what users you want to find. The links to each one's profile page are next to their user names and if they had more than one user name, the alternate names are provided with that user.
