It was made in 1983 and starred a then unknown trio including George Clooney, Laura Dern, and Charlie Sheen out of a cast that included Louise Fletcher, John Rhys-Davis, and Deborah Raffin. The film was released in Hungary but never shown in the United States.

The unknown trio had known ancestors.
Was this movie a sequel to the one with Clint Walker?

Interesting. I would like to see this. I think I'll seek it out. The first Grizzly isn't a good movie by any means, but I'm curious nonetheless.

He would have been good.

The first movie is pretty decent. I watched it last year. I doubt this sequel will be anything to write home about, but the ridiculous title alone makes me curious.

I thought they lacked enough footage to complete it, maybe they did. Here's a little thread I had going after I watched the assembled movie on YouTube: IMDB2.freeforums.net/thread/110164/grizzly-ii-concert-1983Also, let it be known that Laura Dern is now also an Oscar winner, but wasn't at the time I made the thread.

Actually I legit really like "Grizzly". It's a graphic "Jaws" on land ripoff. Nice cast and locations.
Now "Grizzly 2"... Pretty cool they went back to finish it after it was abandoned so many years ago.

That trailer of Grizzly II makes the film look absurd. No wonder the producer ran off with the money. That said, it looks like it would be fun hilarity.
I never got to see Grizzly at the cinema and didn't see it until the mid 80's on vhs. While already dated by then, I actually liked it and have seen a few times since. Very easy going presentation, nice scenery and not bad casting. The bear attack scenes were very well done too with a decent scare and gore factor.

If, as some gossip suggests, Charlton Heston was considered for Brody then I think Gordon would have been the best choice for Quint. Shaw was too short next to Heston. And, if Gordon was Quint, my choice for Hooper (since they had to have a UK accent in there somewhere) would have been Roddy McDowall.

I remember from a YouTube video that Sterling Hayden was Spielberg's choice to play Quint, but there were some insurmountable problems. I also seem to remember that Linda Harrison was up for the part of Mrs. Brody until she was bumped in favor of Lorraine Gary. Yes, I can see Roddy McDowall as Hooper.
