Okay, so here's the deal. This thread is dedicated to the fans of the Toronto Blue Jays and Baltimore Orioles. Listen, as a Red Sox fan, I really don't have much respect for any of you, or your teams. I mean, c'mon......you guys root for the Blue Jays and Orioles. There's not really much to respect about either organization, but you guys have a chance to do something that might actually make me think more of you all, and your stinky teams.
You see, both the Jays and the O's have a chance to keep the Yankees out of the playoffs. 2020 has been a shitshow thus far, obviously, but to see this Yankees team not even be one of the 15 teams to make the playoffs would make things SOOOOOOOOO much better, at least for me.
And here's the thing......both the Jays and O's have an opportunity to do this, if they actually man up and take care of their business. Now obviously a good Red Sox team can handle their shit against the Yankees, even the piss poor Rays have shown themselves to be an organization that can hold its own against the Evil Empire, but let's face it, the Jays and O's are usually lapdogs against the big boys, but now both of these teams have a real chance to actually show some balls and keep the Yankees out of the postseason.
Can they do it? Doubtful
Will they do it? Highly doubtful
You both do have a chance, though. Can both of these sad excuses for MLB teams actually show up for a September drive? I'm not holding my breath, but I'll be rooting for both of you. I'm sure I will be let down, but maybe you guys might surprise me. Godspeed.....

You don't need a lobster roll, just the firm belief that your team has what it takes to pass the Yankees. You're only 2 games behind..... You can do it, dammit!

How are the Red Sox doing these days. 😃 That's fine, you can rip on the Red Sox right now. They are awful, not much I can say to defend the 2020 version. But..... The Sox have won 4 titles since 2004, how many have the Jays won since that time? And most importantly, and crucial to this thread, the Sox have also handled the Yankees when we have had to over the last 15 years, unlike the Jays and O's, who usually fold like cheap beach chairs at the sight of Yankees pinstripes. The point of this thread is I'm hoping this year will be different and your Jays actually man up against the Yankees. Tonight's game is a good start!

This was an ugly Yankees loss to the Blue Jays tonight. I haven't seen a Yankees bullpen this bad since the Steve Farr/Steve Howe days. You may get your wish.

Plenty lobster here, more full of meat too. About $6-$8 wharf price, although I've seen it as low as $3/lbs. I think the PEI/NFLD ones are even better to.

Well unlike the Yankees and your beloved Sox, the Jays have had to compete with them with a budget being a small market team. We can't just go out and buy who we want like you guys, the Yanks, Dodgers etc.

Funny, your team didn't seem so small market when you were spending like crazy in the early 90's. What happened since then?

What happened was player salaries skyrocketed with more free agency and it's a small market because it's Canada.

I've always said this, there are no small market teams, just small market owners. And don't gjve me this poor little Canada thing, the Leafs spend money like sailors on weekend leave. 😁

Some baseball and NBA guys for that matter just won't play in Canada.

There are want to win owners and want free money owners. There's no reason the Pittsburgh Pirates should be this lousy. It's not like Pittsburgh is a county courthouse town. They have a beautiful ballpark. Like the Detroit Tigers, post 1984. Ownership didn't give a damn for the team and they became worse and worse every year. Until the bottomed out and became a 119 loss joke in 2003. Ownership changed gear and the won a pennant two years later. The Buffalo Bills top brass finally got tired of the fans bitching about the 17 year playoff drought (the massive TV checks kept coming in), hired the right people and now they will win the Super bowl this year.
