If that's true then I'm skipping the movie. This was the only post Endgame MCU movie I was interested in watching.

Well it's already established the character was abused during her training so no surprise there

This is a movie that's coming out 6 years too late for me. I haven't been interested in this in years. Especially not with the character currently 'dead'.

Why do people think this is a bad thing? Black Widow might have been abused in the past, ok, why does that make the movie not worth watching anymore?

Why do people think this is a bad thing? Black Widow might have been abused in the past, ok, why does that make the movie not worth watching anymore? Its hypocritical for a company like Disney to tackle this subject with what went on with the Pixar guy. They also did not want evidence to go public in Harvey Weinstein trial that dealt with his time at Disney.

These things are always overblown. Watch it be absolutely nothing at all that they try to inflate to appease Group X/Y/Z.

What the heck is a "metoo storyline"? Sexual assault of some kind most likely. Iโm guessing it will involve one of the other black widows. The cast list says there are at least 3.

woke media have overblown stuff in past the LBGT kiss is The Rise of Skywalker , Sulu Gay in Star Trek Beyond a cutaway moment kiss
seems more like Charlie's Angels part of marketing hype, still could amount to nothing on screen, given Disney's submission to China

'Article' (it's like three paragraphs) says it's 'reflective' of the me too movement, and that the director wanted to make a movie about "women who are helping other women," so everyone can calm down. The movie is exactly what was advertised. Learn to read before you start complaining.

Why do people think this is a bad thing? Black Widow might have been abused in the past, ok, why does that make the movie not worth watching anymore? Because they're dudes with fragile egos.

Why do people think this is a bad thing? Black Widow might have been abused in the past, ok, why does that make the movie not worth watching anymore? Because Disney doesn't actually care about the movement, they're just doing it to jump on a bandwagon and to try and appeal to women and because they're afraid of angry e-mails.

A movie with a MeToo storyline is fine, but a Black Widow movie is not the type of movie to do it in.

Why do people think this is a bad thing? Black Widow might have been abused in the past, ok, why does that make the movie not worth watching anymore? Bad taste left in peoples mouth from recent popcorn franchise movies trying to instil a more modern ideal to the films, which they ultimately do to the point of actively alienating either the pre-existing fans or males in general is my guess. Like Terminator Dark Fate going heavier on the feminism in the attitude of the film, Terminator has always been pro women, it didn't need to up the pro women approach by adding anti male sentiments inside it, or pre-emptively accusing people who wont like the movie of being sexist, but it did and also coincidentally just so happened to be so shittily put together that it shit on the legacy of the franchise and pissed on the nostalgia which was where 95% of the interest of the movie was based on. But I think it's silly to fear that with the MCU, that happens generally to projects without good quality, it's a product of that not the other way around, hence Wonder Woman being fine despite the strong female message and tone, it was a good movie with those elements, not a good or bad movie due to them, and the MCU for the most part delivers solid entertainment so why should we be worried about Black Widow?
